最近 DID(decentralized identity,去中心化身份)话题特别火,融资新闻也一个接一个。 MetaMask 钱包是 DID?

节目中,嘉宾们共同探讨、分享了:对于 DID(去中心化身份,decentralized identity)以及 SBT(灵魂绑定通证,soul-bound token)的理解、它们之间的关系,已经看到哪些在赛道上构建比较实际的案例或者认可的方向,DID 与 SBT 落地过程中碰到的难题等。

Next.ID hosted DID Summer Episode 1 on 20 July 2022 with Decentralised Digital Identity (DID) Web3 builders — KNN3, Collab.land, Ceramic, .bit and Unipass. Representing various types of DIDs with different use cases, they set aside some time to discuss the importance and use cases of DIDs.
They shared diverse perspectives on DIDs, such as how ownership of identities can enable greater use cases. Use cases include proving one’s humanity beyond wallet addresses and this could even bring about real-world use cases beyond Web3. These builders also shared their project’s roadmaps and their thoughts on DID’s future outlook.

In current identity systems, we, as users, do not own our identity. However, this has enabled third parties like Web2 social media companies to remove our content and even our accounts.
Decentralized Digital Identities (DIDs) are important as they give us ownership over our identities and thus our voice in the world. Ownership enables us to:
Own and claim credentials
Build our financial and social reputation
Build our relationships and connections with others
Blend our IRL and digital identities
DIDs are bringing ownership of individual identities via private wallets and NFTs. More forms of identification may be expected to emerge as projects find more ways to decide what constitutes the user’s DID.

DIDs enable us to identify ourselves beyond our wallet addresses, proving our identities in a more holistic and colorful manner. This includes:
Aggregation of our Web2 & Web3 identities
Contextualization of our social connections with others
Verifiable credentials that build our social and financial reputation
DIDs prove our individuality — DIDs use proofs such as verifiable credentials to validate identities. Using DID protocols, we are able to validate IDs, eliminate bots and enable different types of governance.
As we build the identity infrastructure for dApps, we can expect future use cases such as:
Alternative governance and voting models
Integration of SBTs and DIDs to create a trustless mechanism in Web3 social
Greater coordination of Web3 social activities
For anyone who is interested in future Twitter Spaces, please follow Next.ID @nextdotid. We will be hosting more events of this kind, and continue to invite more industry leaders and emerging Web3 builders to talk with us.
