Being mobile-only presented some challenges linking my ETH address since they don’t make it easy to link a desktop MetaMask address. I ended up needing to use two different mobile devices so I could download, i...

[Thursday Thoughties] Dark Future Bright Now
The future is dark, but it's also bright now. Crypto is full of potential. I’m personally convinced it’s the future, but it’s important to remember how dark it is in the future - it ain’t the bright metaverse of snow crash just yet - so unless you’re up close and personal with it, it really is rather hard to see. Add to that the needless complication, amongst other things, that Coopahtroopa mentions in his latest article The World Hates Crypto and it’s easy to understand why so many folk...

[Thursday Thoughties] Same Same But Right
The emergence of a trendy, new sector in the digital space is often followed by an explosion of same same but different products or services. Thank you concentrated innovation at the speed of light on money steroids. Think about all the early attempts at internet search. A lot of semi-successful names like Netscape and Yahoo come to mind, but ultimately Google with their focus on an uncluttered UI, speed, and accuracy won that early battle. There were several attempts at e-commerce early on a...

I’m in the final stages of editing a new article for my Fakewhale Room. Working title: Community, Infinite Games & Cryptoart.
While everyone and their mother in crypto talks about ‘community,’ I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone actually offer a definition of what community is.
So, of course, I couldn’t write a whole article on community without trying to define it. I’ve workshopped the definition over the last month or so both in my own head (lmao) but also with some trusted friends in Seoul and I’m feeling good with the latest version. So without further ado, I present my latest working definition of community:
Community is any group or collective oriented around a shared infinite game that provides emotional shelter to a range of different participants
Would love to hear folks’ thoughts on this definition. I’ll unpack it thoroughly in that upcoming Fakewhale article too, so stay tuned for that.
