The week's selection for Click of the Week opens with a stunning photograph captured in Fresno, California, showcasing an architectural gem that defines the city's culture and history. The image frames the exterior of the Tower Theatre for the Performing Arts, a remarkable example of the Streamline Moderne architectural style that has graced the corner of Wishon and Olive since its opening in 1939. This iconic building didn't just become a part of the city; it gave its name to the vibrant area now known as the Tower District.
The theatre was conceived and designed by the legendary theater architect S. Charles Lee, whose vision resulted in a masterpiece that immediately captivated the public. It originally opened its doors as a Fox movie house, and its design was a perfect expression of the era's forward-looking aesthetic. Key features included striking art-deco glasswork, meticulously sculpted aluminum details that added a sense of sophisticated modernity, and, most notably, the signature cantilevered marquee. This marquee is perhaps the theatre's most recognized feature, wrapping dramatically around the street corner and serving as an enduring beacon for the district. The entire structure, from the grand facade to the interior details, was built to transport patrons into a world of cinematic fantasy.
Over the decades, the Tower Theatre has proven its resilience and significance to the community. Recognizing its immense historical and architectural value, the theatre underwent a comprehensive restoration project in the late 1980s. This meticulous effort preserved its original character and ensured its future as a cultural institution. Following the restoration, the Tower Theatre earned a well-deserved listing on the National Register of Historic Places, cementing its status as an irreplaceable landmark.
Today, the Tower Theatre for the Performing Arts continues to thrive as a hub for community life. It remains committed to preserving and promoting classic cinema culture while also expanding its role as a versatile venue. The theatre regularly hosts diverse programming, including film festivals that draw enthusiasts from all over, live concerts featuring a wide array of musical talent, and various community events. The original neon spire that first illuminated Fresno’s night sky back in 1939 still shines bright, symbolizing a living piece of history and a vibrant cornerstone of the city’s arts scene.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our Clickstar, for sharing this beautiful and historic image with us. This important piece of Fresno's heritage is now safely and permanently preserved on Nodle’s Digital Trust Network.

Caniço, a charming spot on Madeira’s south coast, is located just east of Funchal. This area is famous for its dramatic cliffs, terraced hillsides, and sweeping Atlantic vistas, which are particularly spectacular during sunrise and sunset.
Caniço, whose name is said to derive from a type of tall cane grass that once grew abundantly in the area, offers more than just stunning views. It is home to the Cristo Rei statue in Garajau, a smaller, beautiful replica of the famous Rio de Janeiro statue, perched dramatically on a cliff overlooking the ocean—a significant local landmark. The coastline here is part of the Garajau Partial Nature Reserve, Madeira's first marine reserve, known for its clear waters and rich biodiversity, making it a favorite spot for divers.
The locales of Caniço de Baixo and Reis Magos hold special appeal. These coastal stretches feature elegant villas and well-kept promenades overlooking the deep blue sea. Reis Magos beach, specifically, is a popular spot and one of the few with a lifeguard during the season. As winter nears, these areas are transformed with countless strings of Christmas lights, creating a sparkling, festive mood that rivals the grander displays in Funchal.
From the heights of Caniço, a stunning panorama is visible. The coastal road winds along the hillside, appearing from afar like a serene river of illumination flowing toward the ocean. Below, traditional Madeiran red-roofed homes are nestled into the terrain, contrasting with the vast Atlantic, which subtly blends with the twilight hues. This scene captures the island's unique allure: a classic Madeiran blend of rugged terrain, quiet village ambiance, and the vibrant holiday cheer created by the sea.
This memorable sunset moment, capturing the essence of the Madeiran holiday spirit, has found a lasting presence on the blockchain. A dedicated Clickstar operating in Portugal is responsible for this unique digital preservation, immortalizing the beauty and moment for the digital age.

This past week, the California Central Coast treated us to some truly breathtaking sunsets, and we were lucky enough to capture one of the best right here in Morro Bay. This charming coastal town is a must-visit, boasting a unique blend of natural beauty and fascinating local lore.
The centerpiece of Morro Bay is, without a doubt, the magnificent Morro Rock. Rising over 575 feet (175 meters) from the water, this volcanic plug stands sentinel at the harbor entrance, framing countless iconic sunsets. It's the most famous of the "Nine Sisters," a chain of ancient volcanic peaks that stretch inland to San Luis Obispo.
Morro Rock was first named by Portuguese explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo in 1542, who dubbed it El Morro (Spanish for "the crown-shaped hill"). Its impressive stature has led some to call it the Gibraltar of the Pacific. It’s an official State Historic Landmark and is home to a nesting site for several species of seabirds, including the threatened Peregrine Falcon. Climbing the rock is prohibited to protect this sensitive ecosystem. The rock guards the entrance to a vital 2,300-acre estuary, fed by Chorro and Los Osos Creeks. This nationally recognized estuary is a haven for tidal flats, marshes, and rich eelgrass beds, providing critical habitat for over 250 species of birds - making it a birdwatcher's paradise!
Our favorite moment of the week was spent watching the sun dip below the Pacific, with the four-mile sandspit sheltering the calm waters of the bay. This area is perfect for kayaking, quiet evening walks and simply soaking in the tranquility.
Holding a single shell against the last light of the day truly captures the essence of this place: a small, beautiful fragment of the shoreline held up to an immense sky. As the tide recedes and the day ends, Morro Bay seems to leave its own beautiful love letter in the sand every single evening.
A huge thank you to our Clickstar, SCVCRYPTO, for sharing an amazing thread and capturing these magical moments with us! If you're looking for your next peaceful coastal escape, Morro Bay is waiting for you.

From the glowing horizon, we segue smoothly from sunsets in Portugal and California to one of our other favourite things: Food!
This stunning photo was snapped in central Tokyo, in the Toranomon area. Toranomon, meaning "Tiger's Gate", was historically one of the gates into the Edo Castle grounds. Today, it’s a bustling hub of business and increasingly, a hotspot for serious ramen aficionados. You’ll find everything here from tiny, legendary counters to modern, famous spots in Toranomon Yokocho (a trendy food alley) and around the impressive Toranomon Hills complex.
Modern Tokyo ramen is a creative art form. The bowls often feature a rich, slow-cooked dashi or tonkotsu broth layered with perfectly textured, house-made noodles. Essential additions include a soft, marinated ajitama (seasoned egg), tender slices of chashu (braised pork), and innovative, signature toppings like spicy minced meat, vibrant greens, or even crushed nuts. This kind of creative, “freestyle” ramen is exactly what has cemented Tokyo’s reputation as the global capital for the dish.
Locals don't just eat ramen; they lean into the ritual. The process often starts with choosing your order from a ticket machine, waiting in the narrow, steamy shop and then finally, slurping loudly. This isn't just noise - it's a high compliment to the chef, showing appreciation for the aroma and the perfect heat of the soup. In Tokyo, a bowl like this is more than just dinner; it’s a small, perfect pause in the city’s relentless rush, a moment of deep warmth and satisfaction before stepping back into the neon streets and catching one of the endless night trains.
A huge thank you to our local Clickstar for the incredible inspiration for our next ramen bowl - your lens keeps on capturing the tastiest shots in Tokyo!

Sometimes, the smallest discovery in a collection can open a window to history. This week, we're sharing a Click that is less about capturing a fleeting moment and more about unearthing a lasting memorial: a worn, silver coin, part of a private numismatic collection in Lincoln, England.
The coin itself is a beautiful piece of numismatic history, likely a 19th-century British shilling or half-crown from the reign of Queen Victoria (1837–1901). You can clearly see the famous Young Head portrait of the Queen, designed by the master engraver William Wyon, with the inscription "VICTORIA DEI GRATIA" (Victoria, by the Grace of God). Struck in sterling silver, these pieces were the everyday currency that powered the vast Victorian Empire. They are highly collected today, a tangible link to a world long past.
Highlighting this coin in connection with Lincoln is particularly apt. This city, famed for its towering Cathedral and medieval castle, possesses a deep and fascinating monetary history that predates the Victorian era by over a thousand years.
Lincoln was one of the most important minting towns in Anglo-Saxon and Norman England. Coins bearing the Lincoln mint mark have been preserved, acting as vital evidence for historians studying England’s early economy and the reach of its monarchs. For instance, the Domesday Book of 1086 records a significant number of moneyers working in Lincoln, highlighting its importance as a center of commerce.
Holding this piece of worn Victorian silver connects the daily transactions of the 19th-century with the very present moment. It's a small, heavy reminder that value, memory and history travel together through time, passed from hand to hand across generations.
