The week kicks off with a vivid glimpse into the creative energy simmering in Cali, Colombia. Beyond its worldwide renown as the undisputed Salsa Capital, a deep well of modern urban art and a dynamic creative scene has taken root over the last few years. This artistic revolution is particularly evident in historically rich neighborhoods like San Antonio, with its colonial architecture providing a dramatic canvas, and along specialized routes - dedicated street-art tours and immersive “salsa & graffiti” walking experiences - that celebrate the city's dual passions.
As Cali begins its final countdown and collective preparations for the spectacular 2025 Feria de Cali - the city’s signature end-of-year celebration - the creative pulse quickens. This week-long festival is a kaleidoscopic blend of tradition and modernity, featuring grand parades, massive open-air concerts, nostalgic classic-car shows, and spontaneous street performances. In anticipation of this cultural climax, local artists, illustrators, and graphic designers are channeling the city's vibrant spirit into new work. Their recent output is a fascinating fusion, heavily inspired by the infectious rhythms of Colombian music, the limitless possibilities of science fiction, and the rich, forward-looking aesthetic of Afro-Latin Futurism. This movement - which reimagines the past, present, and future through an Afro-diasporic lens - is giving rise to unique narratives and visual identities that are becoming central to the Feria's thematic expression.
It is precisely this confluence of deep tradition and futuristic vision that makes a detailed character sketch from a Cali notebook so compelling. The image, a study of a finely detailed cyborg, perfectly captures the city's electric, high-octane energy. This sketch serves as an important reminder: before the magnificent murals light up the city walls, before the elaborate costumes take the stage in the parade, and before a single digital avatar interacts in a virtual space - the journey begins quietly. It starts with a pencil drawing, a few lines of graphite on a page, where an artist, designer, or storyteller silently maps out the contours of a new hero, a new myth, or a new universe, ready to be unleashed on the streets and stages of the Feria. These initial, silent acts of creation are the bedrock of Cali's public spectacle.
We begin with a fantastic sketch, generously shared by our very own local Clickstar. Thank you for letting us share your creative work!

From the peak of creative thought to the physical peak of the Montaña Palentina, we journey to the formidable flanks of Pico Espigüete. This 2,450-metre (8,038-foot) limestone behemoth stands as one of the most emblematic and visually striking peaks of the range in northern Spain. It is a sentinel, rising majestically above the charming village of Velilla del Río Carrión, anchoring the Fuentes Carrionas massif within the broader Cantabrian Mountains.
Espigüete's dramatic profile is a core feature of the Montaña Palentina Natural Park, a vast protected area renowned for its untamed beauty and ecological importance. It is a land sculpted by ancient forces, where the headwaters of two major rivers, the Carrión and the Pisuerga, are born amidst a landscape of sharp, jagged ridges, deep glacial cirques, and secluded high valleys. This pristine habitat remains a vital sanctuary for an array of protected and iconic Cantabrian wildlife, including the elusive brown bear, the Iberian wolf, various species of deer, and the magnificent golden eagle soaring high on the thermals.
For mountaineers, Espigüete is universally described as a spectacular but deeply serious mountain—a true test of skill and respect for the high-alpine environment. The routes to its summit offer a dramatic duality based on the season. In summer, the ascent is primarily a challenging scramble over solid rock, demanding stamina and sure-footedness. However, the mountain undergoes a profound transformation in winter and spring. During these months, old, persistent snowfields and sheets of ice cling to its steepest faces, dramatically increasing the technical difficulty and the overall exposure. This is precisely the kind of harsh, beautiful terrain captured in your photograph, showcasing a lingering tongue of hard-packed snow poised precariously above the vast relief of the valley floor, a testament to the mountain's enduring challenge.
Standing on the summit on a rare, clear day—perhaps a crisp June morning when the winter snows have just receded—you gain an unparalleled perspective. From this vantage point, you look out over what local mountaineers reverently call the “other K2” of the Cantabrian range, a name earned through its prominent pyramid shape and the significant challenge it presents. Espigüete is not just a high point; it is considered a crucial rite of passage for many Spanish mountaineers, a definitive tick-list item, and, without doubt, one of the finest, most expansive viewpoints across the entire autonomous community of Castilla y León. The views sweep across the jagged spine of the Cantabrian Cordillera, offering a powerful sense of the scale and wildness of Spain’s northern highlands.
We'd like to extend a huge thank you to the mountaineer for sharing this incredible view and special moment with our community.

The ascent completed, the peaks conquered, a moment of repose is earned. Now, it is time to descend from the heights of those mountain climbs, to find comfort, grab a generous handful of those well-deserved cookies, and fully recharge the spirit and body for the adventures that still lie ahead.
Nestled quietly just north of the bustling heart of Buenos Aires lies La Lucila, a coastal suburb that offers a charming counterpoint to the capital's relentless pace. This tranquil barrio is celebrated for its serenely tree-lined residential avenues, the inviting hum of its local, independent cafés, and a noticeably slower, more contemplative rhythm of life. Within the vast expanse of Greater Buenos Aires, a cherished cultural phenomenon is the late-afternoon merienda—a sort of Argentine tea time, deeply woven into the fabric of daily life. This beloved ritual is meticulously built around the comforting steam of coffee or the earthy infusion of mate, always accompanied by something wonderfully sweet from the oven, encompassing everything from delicate facturas (sweet pastries) to rich cookies and elaborate cakes.
This cultural tapestry provides the perfect setting for a homemade batch of simple, yet deeply satisfying, chocolate-chip cookies. They embody the essence of the merienda tradition: baked with love in a neighborhood kitchen, they are destined to be shared. Picture the scene: friends or family gathered closely around a small, intimate table, the warm, golden light of the setting sun casting long shadows over the vast expanse of the Río de la Plata. As the last light fades, the small, welcoming cafés of La Lucila begin to fill, buzzing with conversation and the clatter of cups, preparing to host their own evening merienda crowd, a nightly confirmation of a ritual that binds the community together. This moment, simple and profound, is the true taste of Argentine comfort.
Thank you so much, COLOR, for sharing this wonderful assortment of cookies with us!

This week, SCVCRYPTO shares an exceptional place with us! We appreciate you sending in this Click!
Moving past the comfort of traditional confectionery, we turn our gaze toward a monumental new development in experiential entertainment: Cosm’s pioneering venue at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California. This location is rapidly solidifying its position as a global nexus for sports and spectacle, situated strategically in the shadow of giants like the SoFi Stadium, the iconic Kia Forum, and the forthcoming Intuit Dome. By adding this new element, the entire district transforms into an unprecedented playground for visual storytellers, cutting-edge technology, and experience-seekers looking to fully dissolve the boundary between audience and event.
The core of this revolution is the building itself: a massive, purpose-built "shared reality" dome. Rising to an impressive height of 26.7 metres, the venue features a colossal, near-360-degree 12K+ LED screen that completely envelops the audience. This architectural and technological feat ensures that every single seat is a front-row view, completely redefining the concept of immersion. Whether it’s a live-streamed stadium event, a high-octane concert, or a specially crafted cinematic experience, the barrier between watching and being inside the scene is entirely dismantled.
The venue's debut feature, launched in late 2025, perfectly exemplifies its potential: “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory in Shared Reality.” This is not merely a screening but an ambitious, multi-sensory reimagining of the beloved 1971 classic. The original film is the foundation, but it is layered with entirely new CGI sequences, precise ambient sound design, and integrated, dynamic lighting effects that respond to the action on screen. The physical space comes alive with whimsical touches, such as actual bubbles drifting through the air, vibrant candy-coloured projections washing over the architecture, and a dedicated culinary experience featuring chocolate-inspired food and drink that seamlessly ties the entire theme together, transforming the act of watching into an all-encompassing, edible fantasy.
For photographers and visual artists, the space offers endless opportunities. The tiered lounge seating not only ensures optimal sightlines but also creates strong leading-line compositions that draw the eye toward the soaring, multi-faceted glass roof. This design allows for dramatic human-scale silhouettes set against the expansive backdrop of the sky. Inside, the design elements - particularly the giant golden arches that seem to float and the swirling, vibrant purple visuals - turn the vast interior into a luminous, cathedral-like space. It is a true “candy cathedral” that blurs the boundaries between traditional architecture, state-of-the-art cinema, an interactive theme park attraction, and a live performance venue. This effect is particularly striking during the golden hour, when the last rays of the California sunset pierce through the grid of the atrium, setting the interior aglow in a breathtaking display of engineered and natural light.

After the demands of a long week, there's no better way to unwind than by settling in at a truly unique spot. Eli Cannon’s Tap Room, a beloved craft-beer destination located on Main Street in Middletown, offers exactly that - and much more, especially as the holidays approach. Renowned for its constantly rotating list of more than 35 microbrews, the tap room also captivates patrons with its distinctly quirky decor and a deep commitment to community-driven events.
However, it is during the holiday season that Eli Cannon’s transforms into a genuine local landmark. The entire building facade becomes a spectacular, must-see display. Covered in a dense tapestry of themed lights, towering Christmas trees, whimsical inflatables, and topped with a bright, glowing “Merry Christmas” sign visible from the street, the display is a magnet for visitors. People come from near and far, drawn as much by the spectacle - often pausing to photograph the elaborate setup - as they are by the promise of a perfectly poured pint inside.
The bar actively weaves its festive spirit into the fabric of downtown Middletown’s official celebrations, aligning with the "Holiday on Main" festivities and the city’s official tree-lighting. Eli Cannon’s hosts several high-impact, annual events that underscore its community focus. These include its own cherished tree-lighting ceremony and the "Stuff a Cruiser" toy and donation drive, organized in partnership with the local police department to benefit families in need. Additionally, they host a popular Holiday Bizarre, featuring local vendors, unique crafts, and a special selection of seasonal winter beers tailored for cold weather enjoyment.
On a typical cold December night, such as the one perfectly captured in the recent photograph, Eli Cannon’s embodies the warmth of a true neighborhood living room. The large windows become pleasantly fogged from the lively activity and temperature difference inside, while the vivid neon glow of the interior lights spills outward. This inner warmth contrasts beautifully with the chill of the evening, as the reflections of the vibrant Christmas lights dance and shimmer across the wet pavement outside, creating a mesmerizing, welcoming scene that invites everyone to step out of the cold and into the heart of the holidays.
