Every year on May 22nd, the crypto community comes together to celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day. This holiday marks a pivotal moment in the history of Bitcoin and serves as a reminder of how far cryptocurrency has come since its early days.

Here's Nodle and Click's CEO and Co-founder, Micha Benoliel, sharing his Bitcoin Pizza Day celebration.
Bitcoin Pizza Day commemorates the first real-world transaction using Bitcoin. On May 22, 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz, a programmer and early Bitcoin enthusiast, made history by purchasing two pizzas for 10,000 BTC. At that time, Bitcoin was a relatively unknown digital currency, and the transaction was a novelty, with the pizzas worth about $41. Today, those 10,000 BTC would be worth hundreds of millions of dollars, highlighting the explosive growth and adoption of cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin Pizza Day is more than just a historical footnote; it’s a day for the crypto community to come together, celebrate, and reflect on its journey. Some common ways the community marks the occasion are Pizza Parties.
In homage to Hanyecz’s pioneering purchase, crypto enthusiasts worldwide host pizza parties. From small gatherings with friends to large community events, these parties are a fun way to celebrate and introduce newcomers to the crypto world.
However, Bitcoin Pizza Day is also a day to give back. And that's why Click decided to launch a fun contest where the community could share their celebration along with the chance to win amazing prizes in NODL. This philanthropic spirit reflects Nodle and Click’s desire to show their appreciation for everyone who made this project possible. With the Click Pizza Party Contest, we hoped to make Bitcoin Pizza Day a time for generosity as well as celebration.
With no further due, we announce our favorite moments of this remarkable mark in history:
1st Place: “BTC takes you places” - Bitcoin, Pizza, and a rendezvous. The cherry on top: a Click for eternity!

2nd Place: “Childhood dreams come true” - Be honest, we all wanted this when we were young (not going to lie, even today this would be heaven).

3rd Place: “Hang me up to dry” - Urban legend says it’s still on the line
By Luis Sousa

As an extra, We would like to thank this young pizza baker, Derek SMG, for sharing his pizzas daily with the Click app. If you're ever in Mexico City, hit him up on X, and go grab a slice of pizza in his shop.
Bitcoin Pizza Day is a unique blend of celebration and reflection, offering a taste of the past and a glimpse into the future. It’s a reminder of crypto’s humble beginnings and a testament to the dedication and vision of its early adopters. At Nodle and Click, as Web 3 continues to evolve, so too will the ways we celebrate its milestones. So, a huge thank you to everyone that supported the project so far, and participated in our Click Pizza Party Contest!
Cheers to many more slices of history to come!
If you missed this contest, don’t worry, we’re launching more contests soon!
