Mark Zuckerberg’s ambition to drive Meta AI into a new era of artificial intelligence has become increasingly evident. In recent months, Meta has undergone major restructuring, allocated massive investments, and established a dedicated unit called Meta Superintelligence Labs. Zuckerberg’s vision goes beyond building smarter systems; he aims to create personal superintelligence that enhances human potential rather than replacing it.

Over the past six months, Meta has carried out four large-scale restructurings of its AI division. The company has now organized Meta AI into four core teams: TBD Lab for next-generation models, Products Team for developing the Meta AI Assistant, Infrastructure Team for scaling computational power, and FAIR Lab for long-term fundamental research. This new structure accelerates development while balancing short-term innovation with deep research.

The establishment of Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL) marks the centerpiece of Zuckerberg’s long-term plan. This unit oversees all superintelligence development under Zuckerberg’s direct supervision. MSL manages major projects like Behemoth, an advanced AI model designed to improve itself without human intervention. For global safety reasons, Meta will not release its most powerful models publicly, choosing instead to develop them within tightly controlled environments.

Zuckerberg has pledged up to $100 billion in investments to build AI superclusters that will support Meta’s superintelligence ambitions. The first of these projects, Prometheus, is scheduled to go online in 2026. Meta is accelerating data center construction by using temporary facilities to meet tight deadlines. An additional $29 billion has also been allocated to expand strategic infrastructure, making Meta one of the world’s largest technology investors in AI data infrastructure.

At the heart of Zuckerberg’s strategy lies the concept of personal superintelligence. He argues that AI should not simply be a tool for automation, but a companion that expands human thinking, creativity, and productivity. Meta envisions AI as an empowering force for individuals, setting itself apart from competitors who emphasize efficiency and automation.

To bring this vision to life, Meta is aggressively recruiting elite AI researchers and scientists. The company is targeting leading experts from international laboratories and offering extraordinary compensation packages, sometimes valued in the billions of dollars, to secure talent for its superintelligence efforts. This recruitment drive underscores Zuckerberg’s determination to assemble a world-class team capable of building the next frontier of artificial intelligence.

Beyond cutting-edge research, Meta is also expanding the presence of AI in consumer products. The Meta AI Assistant is now integrated into Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. The latest model, LLaMA 4, has been launched in multiple variants to address different needs, while the largest version, Behemoth, remains in intensive training. These moves ensure that Meta’s advanced research directly translates into everyday user experiences.

For Zuckerberg, the future of Meta AI is not only about winning the race for technological dominance but about reshaping how humans live, work, and interact. With personal superintelligence, massive infrastructure investments, and global talent acquisition, Meta positions itself as a pioneer leading humanity into the superintelligence era.
