Open MetaMask (browser extension or mobile app).
Click “Create a Wallet.”
Set a strong password (mix uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols).
This protects your wallet on this device only.
Losing your password ≠ , losing your funds (you can recover with your Seed Phrase).
Agree to MetaMask’s Terms & Conditions.
You’ll see a screen introducing the Secret Recovery Phrase (Seed Phrase).
A Seed Phrase = 12 (sometimes 24) random words generated by MetaMask.
It is the master key to your wallet.
With it, anyone can:
Access your funds
Transfer assets
Steal your NFTs
Without it, you cannot recover your wallet if your device is lost.
DOs
Write it down on paper (preferably two copies).
Store it in a safe, offline place (locker, safe, vault).
Consider a metal backup plate (fire & water resistant).
Keep it offline only.
DON’Ts
Don’t take screenshots.
Don’t store in email, Google Drive, WhatsApp, or cloud storage.
Don’t share it with anyone — MetaMask team will NEVER ask for it.
MetaMask will ask you to re-enter the words in the correct order.
This ensures you’ve backed it up properly.
Once confirmed, your wallet is created.
Create your MetaMask wallet.
Write down your seed phrase securely.
Store it safely in at least two offline locations.
