✨ Welcome Crypto Explorers ✨
In today's tutorial, we will be exploring one of the ways to own your identity on the decentralized web.
An ENS name is your username for the decentralized web that can be used to login across many different blockchain and web3 services. Once you set up your ENS name, you can use it as a website address, your identity, wallet/bank, and more!
Let's get started!
How to register an ENS name: https://bit.ly/PartOneENSDomains How to set your reverse ENS record: https://bit.ly/PartTwoENSDomains
Once you learn this skill you will have your very own .eth name!
Type into the "Search Names" field and click "Search"
Click on the .ETH domain you want to register if it is available
You can select how many years to register and pay for the annual fees upfront with the "+" and "-" buttons.
Remember to have enough ETH in your wallet to pay for the full cost of the registration (including gas fees!)
Click the blue “Request To Register” button on the bottom right. A box should pop up from MetaMask asking you to confirm the transaction. Click the “Confirm” button to confirm it.
It will take about a minute for the transaction to confirm.
Do not close your browser during this process.
Once your wait time is over, orange text will appear that says “Click register to move to the 3rd step.” Click the blue next to it that says “Register.”
Once the transaction confirms you can now set the reverse ENS record.
Part One Video Walkthrough: https://bit.ly/PartOneENSDomains
Once you learn this skill, you'll be able to set your ERC-20 wallet address to your new .eth address. If your Ethereum account has a reverse record, Etherscan will display the ENS name instead of the 0x address you specified.
See the previous steps in part one of the tutorial.
ENS Manager: https://app.ens.domains/
Part Two Video Walkthrough: https://bit.ly/PartTwoENSDomains
You have now registered your own ENS name and applications like Etherscan will now be able to recognize your ENS name instead of showing your wallet address after setting your ENS reverse record.
Go to the ENS Domain skill url on Rabbithole.
Click "Redeem" on the top right of the page.
Sign your transaction on Metamask.
✅ You now have earned 250 xp for your Rabbithole profile!
