Hello Fox friends!
If you’re reading this, thank you. It means you’re at least somewhat curious about this Storyteller in Residence role, the future of Philosophical Foxes, and whoever the hell I am.
My actual-name-in-real-life is Tyler Riewer. I’m the Creative Director at charity: water. A husband and father. A student of storytelling. An exceptionally strong parallel parker who sometimes laughs at his own jokes (that’s real-life metadata).
On Discord, you’ll better know me as Destined for Fame.
I’ve spent most of my career-life telling stories. For eight years in Advertising— on behalf of brands like Red Bull, Nike, and A&E Television. And then for nearly a decade in the nonprofit space— using data and technology to build empathy and inspire donors to take action.
Like many of you, I fell in love with this project the moment I read NFTs that Think back in October of last year… because it felt uniquely positioned around story.
Many of the NFT projects I’ve seen over the past year have been about community. A lot of them have focused on digital identity. Some have been forward-thinking about IP. But very very few have been built around story. Imperfect characters that can evolve over time. Increasingly deep narratives. Relationships that can be developed not just among NFT holders, but between the NFTs themselves.
I was giddy about that journey when I claimed my Fox earlier this year, and I’m even giddier to be taking on this role to help push forward the boundaries of on-chain storytelling today.
That’s my hope. That I can be a thought partner to you. Create some weird, memorable mythological moments of my own. And, ultimately, help bring value to your experience as a Fox-holder— as well as the Foxes themselves.
