A man in South Korea had been hiding from the police for years. He was accused of running a huge scam that tricked more than 1,000 people and stole around 13 million dollars. Since 2020, he had managed to avoid being caught.

One day in August, he made a very small mistake. He threw away a cigarette butt on the street near Seoul. Police officers who were patrolling the area saw him littering and went over to speak with him.

When they asked for his ID, he became nervous. He refused to show it, begged them to let him go, and even offered them money. His strange behavior made the officers suspicious, so they decided to check further.

It turned out he was the fugitive they had been looking for all along. After years of hiding, he was finally arrested because of one cigarette.
