Lava is a groundbreaking modular data access layer for blockchains. It introduces permissionless primitive called "specs," which allows contributors to seamlessly add support for new blockchain networks and data services to the base protocol.
The project secured $15 million in seed funding. The round was led by notable investors including Jump Capital, Hashkey Capital, and Tribe. The company is also preparing for its mainnet launch in the first half of the year by offering reward points named Magma.
Let’s get you started on setting up your own validator node for the Lava Network!
Step 1 - Prepare with Rapid Nodes by Creating an Account:
Visit the Rapid Nodes platform here and sign up to create a new account.
Make sure to add sufficient credits to purchase a node.

Step 2 - Purchase a Lava Node
Navigate to your Rapid Nodes dashboard.
Choose "Lava" and select the preferred rental period.
Provide a unique identifier for your validator profile (your Moniker).
Confirm the purchase details.
Monitor the "Active Nodes" section to ensure successful deployment.

Step 3: Grab Your Keys and Claim Tokens
Once your Lava node is up and running on Rapid Nodes, you'll need to retrieve some key information:
Wallet Address: Use this address to claim tokens from the Lava faucet.
Seed Phrase: This phrase will be used to import your account into a compatible wallet like Keplr, allowing you to interact with the Lava network.

Step 4 - Acquire Testnet Funds from the Lava Network Faucet
To obtain funds for testing purposes, visit the #faucet channel on the official Lava Network Discord server.
There, you can request funds by sharing the address you previously created. Once in the channel, submit your request by typing $request followed by your address.

Step 5: Claim Tokens and Mark "Claimed"
Upon receiving faucet tokens, mark your node as "claimed" on Rapid Nodes to proceed with the validator setup.

Step 6: Track Validator Deployment
Once deployed, your validator should become visible here on the list.
You can locate it by searching with either your wallet address or the chosen Moniker. Additionally, you can verify the delegations to your validator from this wallet address.
You can also monitor your Node Deployment by going to UptimeKuma. Your login credentials will be revealed then.

Note: Your node will initially appear as "inactive" on the validator list. To become an active validator, you need to delegate more ulava tokens bonded than the last active validator.
