November 2nd, Lagos, Nigeria—the city came alive with glitz and glamour as Nollywood’s brightest stars turned out in style for the much-anticipated opening night of the 14th African International Film Festival (AFRIFF). The red carpet shone under the Lagos city lights, heralding the start of a thrilling 7-day celebration of African cinema.

Running from November 2nd to the 8th, AFRIFF has become a cultural hotspot, dedicated to showcasing the powerful narratives, rich storytelling, and incredible talent emerging from Africa’s film industry. This year’s festival is packed with unmissable film screenings, thought-provoking panel discussions, and hands-on workshops—all aimed at nurturing the next generation of African filmmakers.

The atmosphere was electric as A-list celebrities graced the red carpet. Among the stars spotted were the dynamic duo Jessica and David Oyelowo, glowing in each other’s company and turning heads. Screen queen Osas Ighodaro captivated fans with her elegance, while beloved actress and producer Uche Jombo brought her signature charm. Heartthrob Kunle Remi, music superstar Davido, and the ever-inspiring festival founder, Chioma Ude, also made waves.
