Have you ever looked at someone achieving great things and wondered, "How do they do it all without facing any resistance?" It seems like their path is smooth, uninterrupted, and effortless. But as Rebeccah Worship recently shared in a thoughtful and humorous response, that perception is often just an illusion from the outside.
When asked, "How is it that you accomplish all you set out to do without any opposition?" Rebeccah replied with refreshing honesty:
"Your observation is relative... Fact is, I've never set out to do anything with zero opposition. I think people forget that there is such a verse as Psalms 109:5 in the Bible. However, life feels a bit easier when we understand that God never prepares for oppositions or catastrophes in his plan. Just like we see in every good movie, it is usually the bad guys that attack first.
We as Believers must set our hearts moment by moment on the name of the Lord our God like Psalms 124:8 says. And, make every conscious effort to treat everyone we meet or are in our lives right, like Psalms 15:5 says.
So to answer your question, I face opposition daily. However, when my plans are the same as God's plan, He gives me the grace to survive the opposition and still accomplish the goal."
What a powerful reminder! Opposition isn't a sign that you're on the wrong path—it's often proof that you're on the right one. Psalm 109:5 speaks to the painful reality many face: "They repay me evil for good, and hatred for my friendship." Yet, as Rebeccah points out, God's perfect plan doesn't include preparing for attacks because He is sovereign and in control. The "bad guys" may strike first, but our God always has the final victory.
In the greatest story ever told—the Bible itself—we see heroes like Joseph, David, Daniel, and even Jesus facing fierce opposition. Betrayal, false accusations, imprisonment, and crucifixion weren't detours; they were part of the journey to fulfillment. And just like in a gripping movie, the plot twists of opposition make the triumphant ending even more glorious.
So, how do we thrive amid the battles? Rebeccah nails it with two key principles rooted in Scripture:
Fix your heart on the Lord continually. Psalm 124:8 declares, "Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." Moment by moment, turn your eyes to Him. In prayer, worship, and trust, anchor yourself in His name—the source of all strength and deliverance.
Treat others with integrity and kindness. Psalm 15 describes the character of those who dwell in God's presence, culminating in verse 5: the one who lends without usury, refuses bribes against the innocent, and acts justly "will never be shaken." Living righteously isn't about perfection but about conscious effort to honor God in our relationships.
The secret to accomplishing your God-given goals isn't the absence of opposition—it's the presence of divine grace when opposition comes. When your plans align with God's, He equips you not just to endure but to overcome and succeed.
If you're facing resistance today—criticism, setbacks, betrayal, or doubt—take heart. You're in good company. Keep pursuing what God has placed on your heart. Set your focus on Him, treat others well, and watch His grace carry you through.
You were made for victory. The opposition may roar, but your God is greater. Keep going—your breakthrough is coming!

Rebeccah Worship blog explains that daily opposition accompanies God-given goals, not a flawless path, and that divine grace helps endure and achieve when plans align with God. Two key principles emerge: fix the heart on the Lord continually and treat others with integrity and kindness. @nollyspot
