8 “But if I were you, I would appeal to God; I would lay my cause before Him.
9 He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.
10 He provides rain for the earth; He sends water on the countryside.
11 The lowly He sets on high, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.”
Today’s scripture reminds us to place every cause, every burden, and every fear at God’s feet. Nothing is too big or too impossible for Him. The God who created the universe is the same God who performs miracles we cannot comprehend. All we need to do is ask — and trust that He provides.
It’s comforting to know that our God is both willing and able. He is our safety, our strength, and our source of answers.
Meditation today was filled with a bit more dullness and distraction than usual. I started the morning hearing my mom wasn’t feeling well and wouldn’t be going to church. I said a small prayer for her, then went on my own.
Today’s sermon was about the first week of Advent — hope.
The candle of hope was lit as we reflected on Matthew 24:36–44, a well-known passage where Jesus speaks of His return.
Jesus reminds us:
No one knows the day or hour — not even the angels.
Just as in the days of Noah, life will look completely normal until the moment God’s plan unfolds.
His coming will be sudden, unexpected, and unmistakable.
The world we’re living in today feels turbulent — wars, earthquakes, hurricanes, disasters happening at an intensity and frequency we haven’t seen in decades. Ukraine and Russia. Israel and Gaza. Political tensions everywhere. Even a volcano erupting for the first time in 12,000 years.
It’s hard not to think about the end times.
But Jesus’s message is clear:
Don’t look for the signs. Look for Him.
If we focus too much on decoding the end, we lose sight of being faithful in the present.
Our calling is simple:
Stay awake.
Stay ready.
Keep our eyes on Christ.
Live with hope, not fear.
Whether His coming is in our lifetime or far beyond it, Jesus wants us to watch with excitement — not anxiety.
That is the message I’m carrying into today:
Hope in the God who performs wonders.
Readiness for the Savior who will return.
Faith in the One who holds all things together.
Happy Sunday.
May your day be filled with rest, peace, and the gentle reminder that God is leading us into the week ahead.
