StarkNet is a permissionless decentralized Validity-Rollup (often referred to as ZK-Rollup). Acting as a Layer-2 network over Ethereum, this enables any dApp to achieve unlimited scale for its computation without compromising Ethereum's composability and security while at the same time having low fees compared to Ethereum mainnet and other optimistic rollups. This means that it’ll likely be a go-to platform for most NFT projects as well, especially once its mainnet goes in full swing.
Before the horde goes in full bandwagon mode though, why not learn how to mint, buy, and sell NFTs on StarkNet testnet as early as now?
Here, I will show you a step-by-step guide on how to do these and on which platforms you can try them on.
Initial Steps
If you’re new to the StarkNet project, chances are, you don’t have a StarkNet wallet yet. Don’t worry, creating a StarkNet wallet is as easy as it goes. You can choose between Argent Wallet or Braavos Wallet. You really can’t go wrong with any of these two.
Once you have the wallet installed and you’ve backed up your recovery phrase, all you need now is some testnet Ethereum. You can easily get some through the official Starknet Goerli faucet. Although you’ll only get a tiny amount so if you’ll need more you can get some from any Goerli ETH faucet in Goerli test network such as Alchemy’s. Then, simply bridge over the ETH you’ll get using StarkGate Goerli.
Once you have your test ETH ready, it’s time to meet the best projects where we can mint, buy and sell NFTs on. Personally, my two top picks are MintSquare and Aspect.
For the purposes of these tutorials, I’ll be using MintSquare. By the way, make sure to select StarkNet Testnet when connecting to the site.

Mint Your Own NFTs
Now that you have your wallet, test ETH, and you’re connected to MintSquare; it’s time to mint our own NFT. 🙂
1.) Click on the Profile icon (where the wallet icon used to be) and then select “Mint”

2.) You’ll then be taken to a page where you can upload your NFT

Simply upload the media file of your NFT. Fill up the fields below such as Name of your NFT, Description, External Link, and Attributes.
The Attributes define the uniqueness of your individual NFTs. Perhaps you want to mint 100 Ape NFTs and they all have different-looking eyes, and maybe only one of them has laser eyes. Simply put Eyes on the Key field and Laser Eyes on the Value field.
It’s entirely up to you, but as they said, Attributes help increase engagement and attract more viewers. So, get creative! 😁
3.) Once you’ve filled up all the needed fields, simply click on Mint and Approve the transaction on your Wallet.

After that, you’ll get a notification that you’ve successfully minted your NFT which you can then check in your Collection after a few minutes.

Congratulations! You have now minted your first NFT in StarkNet. 🥳
Sell Your NFTs
Now that you’ve minted your first NFT, it’s time to learn how to sell them and earn some big bucks 🤑
1.) Go to your Profile.

2.) Here, you can see the NFTs you’ve collected and created. Find which NFT you’d like to sell here. For now, I’ll choose the NFT that I just minted earlier.

3.) You’ll get a full detailed view of your NFT afterward. Most of it are pretty self-explanatory but I’ll explain them anyway for the people at the back 😆

4.) After you click Sell, you’ll just need to unlock the NFT to approve the sale.

5.) Then, set the price, consider if you’d like to set an end time, and click “List”. (You can also opt to put it up for auction where you can set the starting price and end date.)

Voila! Your NFT is now listed. Now all you need is someone to ape in to your NFT🐵

Now you know how to Mint and Sell your NFTs. But what if you’re the one who wants to ape in?
Buy NFTs
Buying NFTs is really easy in MintSquare. You can just click Explore from the homepage and get started.

You can either choose a view by collection or view individual NFTs. If you have a specific collection of NFTs in mind, then simply choose the former and browse through all the NFT collections.

But for me, I’d like to snipe valuable NFTs that are being sold at a low price. So I’ll choose the latter and sort it by price (low to high). You can also sort them as recently listed, price: high to low, or see auctions that are ending soon. There’s even a search tool you can use so you don’t have to browse through a ton of NFTs to find the one you want. Pretty neat, huh?

What’s really cool about this, is you can simply hover over an NFT that you like and an “Add to Cart” button would appear. This enables you to buy multiple NFTs easily. I got my sights on this ape here.

So I pressed “Add to Cart” on 2 NFTs and I could see them on the cart drawer on the right side of the site. I can then hit “Purchase”

After that, you just need to approve the transaction, and congratulations! You just bought an NFT on StarkNet. 🥂
Final Thoughts
As you can see, getting and selling NFTs in StarkNet is easy. Especially with amazing platforms like MintSquare already deploying there. No matter what skeptics say, NFTs aren’t going anywhere and the technology will only keep getting better from here. When the next bull market arrives, NFTs will step into the spotlight again and there’s no doubt StarkNet will be a prime destination for such projects.
With low gas fees and high reliability, it’ll only be a matter of time before developers and users come flocking to the network and try to integrate into its already-vast ecosystem.
If you’re exploring StarkNet right now, it means you are early and ahead of the curve. So, you should give yourself a pat on the back! From NFTs to Defi to Games and a whole lot more, there’s still so much left to explore even at this early stage, so keep on immersing yourself into this wonderful ecosystem, spread the word, and contribute when you can. Together, let’s hope for mass adoption not just of StarkNet but of Web3!
