Regen Atlas
Regen Atlas partners with EcoToken to enable retirement of Regen Network green assets on Celo. This integration empowers users to make environmental contributions by retiring environmental assets using five different Celo tokens.
EcoToken is a robust system designed for cross-chain environmental credit management and retirement. Its products include:
ecoLedger: A record keeping system that tracks environmental assets listed, sold, or retired across blockchains. EcoLedger guarantees the integrity of transactions, preventing overselling and ensuring transparency for environmental assets throughout their entire lifecycle. The ledger is publicly viewable at scan.ecotoken.earth.
ecoToken dApp: A platform and permissionless API consisting of a comprehensive set of tools to facilitate crosschain exchange of environmental assets, including:
Impact Certificates: unique non-fungible tokens representing verified environmental contributions, allowing users to track and showcase their positive impact.
Integrated Impact Scoreboards, where users can monitor and compare their environmental impact performance against others.
So far, EcoToken offers credit retirement for 10 Regen Network projects spanning 7 blockchains (Solana, Eclipse, Celo, Base, Polygon, Aptos, Arbitrum, and Optimism).
EcoToken’s environmental credit retirement feature has been integrated into the Regen Atlas, enabling retirement with CELO—the native token of the Celo blockchain—directly through the Regen Atlas interface. Users can now support specific Regen Network projects by retiring their corresponding credits near instantly using a variety of stablecoin payment methods:
cUSD: The Celo ecosystem’s most well-known stablecoin
Glo Dollar: A stablecoin whose yield funds public goods.
The process is simple—here’s how to make an impact:
Choose a Project: Browse through various Regen Network projects on the Atlas and select one to support. Each project comes with details like its location, goals, and credit cost.
Send Payment: Assuming the selected project supports credits retirement, users can spend CELO or a stablecoin for retirement. Users will see the price for one environmental credit, yet can retire any amount. For example, if a credit is priced at 25 cUSD, sending 12.5 cUSD would retire half a credit, while sending 50 cUSD would retire two.
Credit Retirement: Once the payment is confirmed, the EcoToken system retires the credits. All data, including transaction records and retirement status, is always available via EcoToken endpoints. It is also possible to check retirement details via EcoToken Scan. With the credit’s Retirement Hash/Settlement Hash available from both sources, credit retirement can also be verified on the Regen Network blockchain.
While at the time only retirement is possible, in the future, EcoToken’s environmental assets will be transferable, in line with Regen Atlas’ Listing Methodology.
