On this episode of Rehash, we have a highly technical conversation with html_tina about re-staking, liquid staking tokens (LSTs), oracles, slashing, and more. Html_tina is a Product Manager and Head of Governance at EigenLayer, a protocol built on Ethereum that introduces re-staking, a new primitive in cryptoeconomic security.

Html_tina is a Product Manager and Head of Governance at EigenLayer, a protocol built on Ethereum that introduces re-staking, a new primitive in cryptoeconomic security.
Tina does a great job of explaining these concepts in an easy to understand way, introducing playground analogies that even a 5 year old can understand. She also draws from traditional finance concepts like rehypothecation to further illustrate what liquid staking can enable.
On a more practical front, Tina shares her best tips for someone trying out liquid staking for the first time, including why it’s of utmost importance to find a liquid staking service that offers full decentralization and self custody.
Finally, Tina shares her views on the role of forking and rehypothecation in governance models and the potential benefits and drawbacks of the two within the context of a DAO.
