Ride The Bus is headed in a new direction. In order to understand where we are going, it’s important to look back at where we have been.

We chose to launch on Polygon due to the low transaction fees (~$0.02) and short block times (~2s).

We spent a small sum of $$ on marketing hype.

We audited our contracts.

We launched a presale.

Crickets.

We still have the game to launch. One of a kind — something new and fresh. This might spur interest in the collection. But the problem is there is no visibility into our project.

Is anyone aware we exit? Are we just talking to bots and the void?

Throw in the towel?

Nonsense! It is time to re-evaluate our direction. A pivot.

Base: The new frontier.

Why Base?

Just look at the activity. Users are flocking to Base. TVL is increasing.

Also, Farcaster. We will be able to bundle up our game into a Frame, making it easy for anyone to ape in during their scroll session, without leaving their feed. Crypto native users are on Farcaster, many of them contributing to the above Base charts.

Be where the users are.

Luckily, we haven’t really had to modify our game. We do have to migrate our VRF contracts from Chainlink VRF to Supra VRF (Chainlink does not support Base), but this is an easy swap.

As for the Bus Collection? Here is where we are switching things up!

What is the utility of a Bus NFT? Well, 10% of protocol rewards are made available to bus holders by staking in the protocol.

Instead of making these available for 45 Matic presale (Roughly $30 today) and 55 post, which we thought was a good deal, but no one was interested in… we will be giving them away FOR FREE… 

However, retroactively!

We will let the treasury start to grow in the early phases of the game while we iron out any kinks on our frontend application switching networks.

Over time, we will share various ways to ‘climb the leaderboard’ and earn a Bus. (Think tweets, discord activity, farcaster activity, gameplay, etc.)

While the Bus contract is still on Polygon as it is immutable ownership will be revoked and no one will have control of it. DO NOT send it funds or they are considered lost. Everyone who purchased a bus will be refunded 100%.

We will be deploying a new one on Base in the future.

We are not ruling out still launching our game on Polygon, but we think we can build some hype on Base, while also trying to submit our Onchain Summer II.
