When I was new, I loved price predictions.
“$1 soon.”
“10x incoming.”
“This will flip everything.”
It made decisions feel easier.
Now I skip most of them.
Predictions Feel Like Certainty
The problem isn’t that predictions exist.
It’s how confident they sound.
No one controls the market.
But predictions are often presented like outcomes are guaranteed.
That’s where beginners get misled.
What I Noticed Over Time
Most predictions fall into two categories:
Right by luck
Wrong without accountability
When they’re right, they get amplified.
When they’re wrong, they disappear.
That’s not analysis. That’s selective memory.
What I Focus on Instead
I stopped asking “How high can this go?”
I started asking:
What is this project actually doing?
Who is using it?
Does it still make sense without hype?
Price follows attention, but value follows utility.
My Simple Filter
If someone can’t explain the project clearly
but can confidently predict the price…
I ignore the prediction.
My Take
Predictions are attractive because they remove thinking.
But in crypto, thinking is your edge.
Anyone can guess a number.
Very few can explain a system.
And in the long run, the explanation matters more.
