I once read a book called Decisive by Dan Heath and realized... We suck at making decisions.
Just look at these numbers:
44% of lawyers would not recommend a young person become a lawyer.
More than half of teachers quit their jobs within four years.
In 2009, an estimated 61,535 tattoos were reversed in the U.S. alone.
Yeah… Not good.
But the good news is that the authors gave us a formula for making better decisions — and I wanted to share it with you.
Widen Your Options (don’t get stuck with just A or B)
→ Example: Instead of asking “Should I quit my job?”, ask “How can I redesign my current role and explore a side project first?”
Reality-Test Your Assumptions (don’t just believe your gut)
→ Example: Before launching a product, talk to five potential customers and ask if they’d actually pay for it.
Attain Distance Before Deciding (don’t decide in the heat of the moment)
→ Example: Give yourself 24 hours before saying yes to a big offer or opportunity.
Prepare to Be Wrong (make failure less scary)
→ Example: Set a clear “tripwire” — “If this investment loses 20%, I’ll re-evaluate.”
Use it. Save it. And start making better decisions.
Life update:
Okay, you’re gonna start laughing 😂 but I sweeeeeear too much is happening right now.
I started working with a new client and might be signing another one soon. On top of that, I’m still doing all the outreach I used to do… so yeah, fully booked calendar.
My mind is tired and my body misses nature and movement, so I´ll do a lot of that this weekend 🌿.
(That and one business meeting this weekend. But hey, life is like that sometimes ✨)
Sending you happy vibes and hope to see you with a rested mind next week ❤️
