We are excited to share that the 10th episode of the VAULT3D Podcast with Austin Visual is now LIVE on all of your favorite audio platforms!

Introducing our 11th VAULT3D Podcast guest Nadine Bauer.
Original air date: 02/04/22.
Nadine is a lens-based artist and Marine Biologist, and uses her love of diving to show us parts of the ocean that many would dare not traverse 👇
“I guess everyone has that feeling that over time you develop your own style and then you look at your older photos and think, wow, why? Why did I edit like that? And I, I think that's the same here as well. So when I started editing underwater photos, when I look back right now, I think that they are horrible. So it takes a lot of time, effort, improvements, and learning as well.” - Nadine Bauer, SHILLR VAULT3D Podcast, Episode 11.

“I find myself like shooting something and I'm like, oh, the pillow is like, just needs to be like tilted up a little bit. And it's almost like overly curated in a way. But like, I sort of like that about it cuz it reminds me of both of them where they were sort of like, things could actually just be beautiful. And I really like, I love that. You know? And it's like the utility is that you wanna look at it.” - Brooke DiDonato, SHILLR CURAT3D Podcast, Episode 14.

On “Why Art?” with SHILLR, we had a dense chat with Jordan Lyall covering his journey as both a collector and builder.
Context is incredibly important when it comes to collecting art, here's how Jordan defines it 👇
“It's more than just the jpeg, it's more than just the visuals. It's the code, it's the provenance of what platform it was launched on, who owned it before, who minted it, when was it minted, you know? Perfect mention earlier about, you know, the blockchain being the perfect record because it's like provable context.” - Jordan Lyall, Why Art? w/ SHILLR.

On GENERAT3D we chatted with Look Highward about the use of machine learning in art. On the topic of AI creating derivatives, here's what Luke had to say 👇
“It's as derivative as being a human on the planet or as being a letter in the alphabet. I mean, everything is made of everything else. It's a synthesis of everything, it's accessed in its data set, it makes something new composed out of all that. So, I just see it as this crazy potential of all these different things that you couldn't have visualized or imagined necessarily without it.“ - Look Highward, GENERAT3D w/ SHILLR.

‘From the Archives’ is to showcase an art gm artist, who has not yet been featured on the SHILLR Weekly Recap as part of Bernardo’s Art Café. This week’s artist is Jimena Buena Vida. Thread originally posted March 23, 2023.

Jimena is an artist who's life experiences & computer science background have shaped her style into the vividly abstract. Her art reflects her multifaceted identity, drawing influence from various topics such as her Latin American roots, childhood trauma & personal change.

I vibe with Jimena's art because I'm able to view it through the lens of my own personal experiences & interpret it in ways that I relate to. I especially appreciate how her experience of immigrating shows up in her art & I deeply admire her approach to vulnerability.

A great entry into Jimena's work is through 'Shadow Work'. It's a piece about accepting the complexity of who we are & embracing the shadows that we cast. I love how the shadows show up in this work, both bright & dark colors cast vivid shadows.

If I had unlimited ETH I would cop 'Carnavalitos'. It's a lovely representation of a Columbian fiesta that promotes cultural expression. A brilliant reflection of Jimena's dedication to using her art to celebrate her heritage & life experiences.

You should scope out Jimena's work because it will brighten your day. Jimena turns personal struggles into growth, which translates into an impactful viewing experience. Browsing Jimena's art will give you a new appreciation for the past & allow you to view it in new colors.

If you're interested in checking out other artists I've featured or would like to recommend someone I should look into, head over to the below thread. Thanks for reading! ☕️ ✨ 💚
