“Protocols and applications. They're deriving value from whatever they're disrupting, and the fees and the flows and the cash flows, et cetera. The TVL that those protocols have. These things, Punks, Fidenza's, Art Blocks, all this stuff, they're deriving value because they have cultural significance and it’s cultural significance based in a crypto centric way.” - Soby, SHILLR VAULT3D Podcast, Episode 17.
For any Media Pass Holders, join our Discord and verify via Vulcan to hear the episode hosted by our Director of Media, Boona! The episode will be available on all platforms soon!

Monday on “Why Art?” with SHILLR | Presented by wildxyz ✨
Wwe had an amazing chat with Nevin Johnson about his journey as an artist and a father.
Web3 removes many intermediaries for artist, it also commands a lot more responsibility 🔽
“You have to be your marketing department. You have to be your PR department. You have to be the HR department. You have to do everything. You have to wear so many different hats to be successful in this space. And that's just, is what it is. There's no getting around it. And I think the sooner people embrace that the better.” - Nevin Johnson, Why Art? w/ SHILLR [Presented by Wildxyz].

Thursday on GENERAT3D we chatted with 0x113d about Terraforms, the significance of accurate discourse, spatial computing & everything in between ✨
Here's 113's take on our current state of computer literacy and the opportunity that artists have 🔽
“I want to be able to think. I want to have literacy. I want to have a glimpse of what literacy could look like in this medium. I'm going to die before humans have literacy in the medium of computing. But I want a glimpse of it before I die. And I want to tell everybody that we live in a society of illiteracy and that we don't have it yet and they think they have it,but they have a guitar hero and that all the proclamations around them are a farce and they're emperors with no clothes and that the door is wide open for artists to come actually do the Renaissance.” - 0x113d, GENERAT3D w/ SHILLR.
The Space was not recorded this week.

‘From the Archives’ is to showcase an art gm artist, who has not yet been featured on the SHILLR Weekly Recap as part of Bernardo’s Art Café. This week’s artist is omentejovem. Thread originally posted February 7, 2023.

Omentejovem is a Brazilian abstract artist who tells his story & vision through his craft. Omentejovem creates art that often draws inspiration from his surroundings in Brazil & is recognizable by his simplistic & vibrant colors as well as his signature moon.

I vibe with Omentejovem's art because it's both simple & complex. His themes are abstracted to the point where the viewer may be able to understand the artist's intent but is also able to view the work with their own references that they have on hand.

A solid entry into Omentejovem's body of work is through "Purple Moon" (OpenSea link). This is an iconic piece from Omentejovem's catalogue and features his classic "Late Night Love" orange moon in reverse.

If I had unlimited ETH, I would cop "The Moon" (SuperRare link). This is a dynamic piece of art in which the viewer can change which moon they're looking at by clicking on "The Dot" within the moon. Might just be Omentejovem's most unique piece he's created.

You should scope out Omentejovem because his work is beautiful & his style is unique yet recognizable. Omentejovem's art is something anyone can enjoy, regardless of their taste. His work makes the viewer wonder & allows for them to search for their own meaning in his art.

If you're interested in checking out other artists I've featured or would like to recommend someone I should look into, head over to the below thread. Thanks for reading! ☕️ ✨ 💚
