KyberSwap exchange returned about $4.7 million after exploit
The company's post on X (formerly Twitter) said that the team returned part of the funds as a result of negotiations with the operators of front-run bots, who withdrew about $5.7 million in cryptocurrencies from the KyberSwap pools on the Polygon and Avalanche networks during the hack. The hackers were offered a deal under which they would return 90% of the stolen assets to a specified address, and 10% would be paid to them as a reward. Let us remind you that on November 23, 2023, KyberSwap suffered from a hacker attack for more than $40 million. The hacker attacked Elastic pools, as a result of which funds in such blockchains as Arbitrum, Optimism, Ethereum, Polygon and Binance Smart Chain were damaged. Subsequently, fake messages appeared in X about the distribution of KNC tokens to users affected by the hacking of the KyberSwap exchange. These are most likely phishing attacks.
