I would like to share my thoughts on Aleo - a unique technology that could become the foundation of a secure, interoperable, and fair internet. As Aleo's developers claim, in the next decade, web services will be ubiquitous and will talk about every intimate detail of our personal lives. There is no such thing as "private web data" because if it's stored on the internet, someone else owns it. Aleo believes that the business model in which users are required to surrender their personal data in exchange for free services is outdated and puts users at odds with web services.
Zero-knowledge cryptography, on which Aleo is based, is one of the most effective technologies for securing data on the internet. It allows users to keep their data on their devices without even sending it to any web services. This not only protects user data but also reduces the load on web service servers.
Furthermore, Aleo makes web services more interoperable. For example, brokerage firms can use Aleo to securely transmit user transaction data without needing access to their personal information. This helps protect user data and provides more equitable service.
Finally, Aleo makes web services more fair. Users have the right to privacy of their data and should be able to interact with web services without disclosing their personal information. Aleo enables them to do so by providing a secure way to transmit data.
