“Real Friends’ is about the people around you that matter, that realisation that as you grow, there are certain friendships that are always there and that last through all the ups and downs of life. Even when you drift apart, the small memories of the special moments you have together stick with you forever.” - [EPK Link if you want to learn more]
My music has become focused on connections, family and community, and giving value to the things in life that really matter. Everyone who has contributed is either a friend, or friend of a friend, and that includes the photographers (Joe Puxley + Toby Fisher ), mastering and mix support (Emre Ramazanoglu) and visual artists / directors (Jackson Ducasse + Guy Gooch). The artwork is built from photos on a wall in my parent’s home, and the EP features audio samples taken from phone footage of my everyday life, such as giggles from my daughter and waves at the end of the track Rush. In return, it’s an invitation to join and reminisce on your own personal memories for a joint collective experience.
All visuals are interpretations of the music and what they stand for, they are not your average music video, and this will always be a theme for my output. I want to platform new talent, but also give them the freedom to create art that can connect emotionally like the music. We now live in a world where emotional connection with music and art is really the only way to build deep connections with fans. I want to create a soundtrack to people’s lives. I grew up influenced by the great creative directors like Michel Gondry, Jonathan Glazer and Spike Jonze who aimed to create art in their music collaborations and not just branding.
