Cryptocurrency Price Action Update
Bitcoin (BTC): Today's price is US $84,900.39, with a 24-hour trading volume of US $31,518,832,922. The price has risen by 0.61% in the past 24 hours and has increased by 5.32% in the past 7 days. The circulating supply is 19.85 million BTC, and Bitcoin's market cap is US $1,685,395,547,167.
Ethereum (ETH): Today's price is US $1,631.40, with a 24-hour trading volume of US $15,078,226,501. The price has decreased by -0.11% in the past 24 hours and has risen by 2.65% in the past 7 days. The circulating supply is 120.69 million ETH, and Ethereum's market cap is US $197,011,450,488.
Ripple (XRP): Today's price is US $2.14, with a 24-hour trading volume of US $3,426,971,966. The price has dropped by -0.83% in the past 24 hours and has increased by 12.53% in the past 7 days. The circulating supply is 58.34 billion XRP, and Ripple's market cap is US $125,752,596,353.
The cryptocurrency market has been exceptionally lively these days! The OM flash crash hasn't cooled down yet, and the Story (IP) token had a "mad plunge show" on the evening of April 14th. The price plummeted like a slide, dropping about 25%, and even more exaggeratedly, it fell by 17% in less than an hour! The main trading volume was concentrated on Binance contracts and OKX spot, which was a disaster for those who wanted to trade waves, thinking they would make a profit, only to find themselves like catching a rapidly falling flying knife, which could easily lead to severe injuries.
Talking About Tariffs
Now, the main affected areas are imported cars and spare parts, but there are signs of easing in the tariff negotiations with China, and there may be some good news released successively. The most severe tariff plan at the beginning of April is basically impossible to be truly implemented, so the pressure from tariffs will gradually decrease.
But aside from tariffs, the economic situation is the most worrying now. If the economy is too good, the Federal Reserve won't rush to cut interest rates, so the market's expected interest rate cut in June should not be advanced, and the key is still to look at the GDP data announced at the end of April, which is particularly crucial.
Back to Altcoins
Recently, I took a look at the market cap-to-exchange rate of altcoins. Last week's weekly line closed with a doji star, many friends may not understand what this indicator is used for. In fact, it is simply a tool to judge market sentiment. If the altcoin market cap-to-exchange rate rises, it indicates that altcoins are performing stronger than Bitcoin, with capital flowing into the altcoin market.
If the market cap-to-exchange rate falls, it indicates that capital is flowing out of altcoins, and Bitcoin is more favored by the market. And last week's weekly line closed with a doji star, which also indicates that the current market's bullish and bearish forces are temporarily balanced, and a change may occur.
So, although it may not be the best time to bottom fish for altcoins now, it might still drop a bit further, it is indeed time to start paying attention to some relatively strong coins, especially those that perform stronger than Bitcoin, or newly listed coins, so as to both defend and not miss the potential rise.
