Sound.xyz is Entering Maintenance Mode
Preserving what’s built, while focusing on what’s next. As of today, Sound is officially entering maintenance mode. As announced last week on X, we’ll be disabling new uploads and artist onboarding. This decision wasn’t made lightly—but it’s the clearest way to preserve what’s working without slowing down the future we’re building. What’s ChangingFans can still listen, browse, and collectArtists...

Introducing Sound Protocol
When we built Sound, the vision and mission was to create a world where any artist has complete creative control of their art and career without compromising the ability to own the relationship with their audience. In order to do right by artists and their communities, we had to make careful product decisions that allowed us to test our hypotheses about the future of music in a way that would allow us to generate real insights without sacrificing the trust of musicians, listeners, and collect...

gm. We’re thrilled to release the new Sound.xyz homepage.
It’s designed to make the experience of discovering new music on Sound feel fun and social.
↳ Daily top 5 trending songs & top backers ↳ See what top collectors are minting 👀 ↳ View upcoming and recent drops 🗓️ ↳ Explore viral playlists curated by the community 🔥
https://kevinteng.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/homepagev3.mp4?autoplay=true&loop=true&muted=true
Let’s dive in ⬇️

The hero now features the five songs on Sound that have seen the most momentum in the last 24 hours.
It dynamically updates to showcase the songs that are resonating most with our community.
For each song, the avatars of the top five collectors are displayed with the number of editions they minted.

Browse the Viral Sounds that collectors are minting, playing, and curating.

Explore and listen to the upcoming drops on our homepage.
If you like what you’re hearing, add the song to a playlist, share, or set a notification so you don’t miss the drop.

We’ve added a live feed of the songs that top collectors are minting.
Our users often tell us that being able to see what others are minting leads them to discover new songs, so we wanted to experiment with different ways to provide that signal.

The top collectors each week are prominently highlighted on the homepage.
We want to celebrate the collectors supporting the incredible artists on Sound.

For the first time, we’ve added a section for viral playlists being created by our community.
Curators play an instrumental role in driving discovery, and we’re excited to make playlists a more central part of Sound.

Finally, browse recent drops on Sound. Tap on “See All” to browse the entire catalog.
This is another step in our journey towards opening up Sound in the coming months.
We want Sound to be curated by our community – both artists and collectors – and our new homepage reflects exactly that.
As usual, we’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Join the discussion on Twitter or Discord!
