The Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs of the US State Department, Conda, said on May 2 local time that the US plans to set up embassies in the Pacific island countries of Tonga, Kiribati and Vanuatu, and the embassy in Tonga will open later this month.
