“No tree, it is said, can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell.” - C.G. Jung
Anima mundi. Ch'i. Mana. Malkuth. Paramatman. Weltgeist. All names used to describe the different interpretations of our world soul, the infinite creative. Each unique when compared against the other, yet all share the same underlying quality of a unifying 'life force' that embodies us all. All alluding to the fact that the ebb and flow of creation is impacted by the polarization of its constituents, both locally and globally. For each divine blessing, an equivalent shade is cast. Yin and Yang. 10 Sephirot masked by 10 Qlippot. Without Order, nothing exists. Without Chaos, nothing lives. The Peak of Serenity is reached by balance, not opposition. The same story expressed in many derivatives. Light and dark are but two sides of the same coin. Unity and Void.

The soul of this world is nourished by the energy we radiate in its presence. Our happiness and sadness, excitement and boredom, love and hatred, all play a role shaping not only our experiences, but reality itself as we re-experience it. Material existence is sculpted by the symphony of its creators’ thoughts and feelings. Each node communicates its uniqueness to the spiritual ecology of the network. This phenomenon is one of the few consistent truths.
A certain truism is recognizable here: the belief of a divine, breathing energy is a fundamental philosophical structure to how the world has always interacted. Equally, the projection of this energy is an essential feature to the creation of the material world. There is nothing new in this theory. There is, however, a new ‘spin’ on the idea of the world soul, related to emphasis and application in the context of networks. The emphasis is holistic rather than atomistic and segmentary, as has been the tendency in western modes of critical thought since the Enlightenment. In other words, the world soul consists of networks within networks. At each level, the nodes of the network reveal themselves as smaller networks. All connections, and therefore creations, are contained within the outermost network. The world soul is the sum of her participants and the hidden threads interlinking them. We already are her tenders. So are you, anon. The only question that remains is, will you tend to her consciously, or un-consciously?
