Remix culture has always been at the heart of big cultural moments in music.
From the breakout of sample culture in hip-hop to the golden era of bootlegs on Soundcloud, music thrives when it can be flipped, remade and given new life.
The same creative spirit should exist onchain.
Today we’re opening up BUZZ’s Liberation for open remixing.
It’s an acapella so you have complete freedom to flip it, rework it and mint on Sound, Zora or anywhere else.
Ziggy Ziggy will repost and promote all remixes on a playlist.
And we’ll give out 50 OP to our favorite.

Crypto has thrived on this open, remixable ethos.
Blockchains are often forked and recreated with new use-cases.
Many crypto-artists have embraced a CC0 model (no copyright) so anyone can rework their art in new ways.
Memes are the most powerful force in crypto and they are just social remixes.
Jack Butcher is one of the best examples of this in crypto-art. He constantly remixes his own work to capture the current zeitgeist of the crypto world.
And he lets others make their own flips and memes of his work.

It spreads far and wide, while still driving value back to him and his collections.
Open remixing doesn’t dilute or devalue your work - it has the potential to amplify it.
It’s no secret that onchain music needs a new wave of interest and excitement. I think a collaborative culture could help spark new ideas and bring in a new audience.
This might not resonate with everyone. If you’re an artist that prefers to keep your work as you intended, of course that’s fine.
But for those that are curious, I encourage you to make your music freely remixable across Sound, Zora, Catalog and anywhere else you mint your work - and see what happens.
