RISC Zero and O(1) Labs are strides in enhancing the Optimism ecosystem by integrating Zero Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs) into the OP Stack. Their mission, aligned with the Technical Decentralization Intent of Optimism Governance's Season 4, is to bolster security and enable faster cross-chain communication within the Superchain. RISC Zero is developing Rust-based ZK validity proofs, aiming to make ZKPs more accessible and interoperable, while O(1) Labs is leveraging its expertise from the Mina protocol to bring its ZK technology to the OP Stack. Both teams have committed to open-source development and community engagement, with regular updates on their progress.
As part of this collaborative effort, RISC Zero is focusing on a Rust-based ZK Validity Proof System, integrating with the Ethereum/Rust ecosystem, and extending support for OP Mainnet. O(1) Labs, on the other hand, is optimizing its PLONKish proof system for Ethereum and working on a MIPS zkVM to reduce the withdrawal window on the OP Stack, thereby enhancing trustlessness and user experience. Uniswap has announced the launch of the Uniswap V4 Sandbox, a collaborative effort with the Uniswap Foundation and Conduit. This testnet is a playground for developers to experiment with and refine custom Automated Market Makers (AMMs). Built as an OP Stack rollup on Conduit's innovative platform, the sandbox offers a dynamic testing environment where developers can engage with the new Uniswap V4 pool logic and experiment with the potential of EIP-1153 transient storage.
Alongside the sandbox, the Uniswap Sandbox Bridge has also gone live, facilitated by Conduit and the Superbridge app. This bridge enables a seamless connection from the Sepolia network to the Uniswap Sandbox, inviting developers to start testing their innovative custom hooks in a robust and supportive environment.
