The interoperable Layer 1 public chain ZetaChain announces ZETA token economics. ZETA is designed to be the utility token and native currency of the ZetaChain network. In addition to full-chain tokens that can be transferred to ZetaChain across connected chains, ZETA is used to secure the proof-of-stake network, zEVM transaction fees, cross-chain transaction gas fees, and governance.
The total initial supply of ZETA tokens is 2.1 billion, of which 22% will be allocated to the community, including 10% for airdrops, wallet activities and other community user-centered reward programs, and 12% for the Ecosystem Growth Fund Used to incentivize and fund ecological builders; 10% is allocated to validator incentives; 5.5% is allocated to validator incentives; 24% is allocated to the protocol treasury; 22.5% is allocated to core contributors; 16% is allocated to buyers and consultants.
In addition, of the 10% used to reward community users, 4% of the total ZETA tokens will be used for airdrops during the launch of the ZetaChain mainnet, including 1.5% that will be distributed at the launch of the mainnet and will contribute to ZETA points. The recipients will take a snapshot to reward community contributors in the early stages of the project; the other 2.5% will be allocated to participants in wallets, learning, social and other projects. The specific airdrop time will depend on the activity at the launch of the mainnet and thereafter.
