What is the False Nine?

First and foremost, The False Nine is web3, onchain, and Farcaster native. We aim to create a web3 version of a football publication where fans are not simply consumers but have skin in the game and are rewarded for growing the publication and supporting the beautiful game.

The False Nine emphasises the community aspect of football fans. We don’t cover specific teams or introduce team-based biases into our content. Our goal is to create a welcoming community for all fans, new and old alike.

We aim to create a cozy corner on the blockchain for football fans. We’ll be publishing weekly articles, live streams, podcasts, and an exclusive subscriber-only Warpcast group chat.

Our Content

The majority of our content will be available freely to everyone onchain. A subset of content will be exclusive to The False Nine Hypersub subscribers and Fan Token holders.

We focus specifically on covering the English Premier League and European Champions League football. Over time, we hope to expand our coverage but are keeping things focused until we scale.

Why we're building this

While I’ve spent the last decade in the fintech and web3 space, I’ve always been a big football fan. I ran my own publication many years ago and even covered the World Cup as a reporter. I also worked for one of the biggest football publications in the world for four years. In some ways, this is me coming full circle.

I see an opportunity for different applications of decentralized blockchain technology, and with recent developments on Farcaster, I feel now is a great time to build in the space. Web3 opens up new opportunities for creators, making it more feasible to do what they love full-time. At least that’s the bet I’m making.

Who is this for?

Anyone who’s a football fan and active onchain or believes in the principles of blockchain technology, like decentralization and fairly rewarding participants.

We’re aiming to get the publication ramen profitable, which means the founders earn enough to cover their living expenses. We have created two primary revenue streams:
