Technical Analysis Explained by Martin Pring lays out an introduction to trading on the market using visual cues to support decision-making. He writes about momentums, market structures, and other aspects of market analysis.
My number one take was that the market prices are the human emotions that participate in the trade. I started my investment journey by reading and learning about value investing to study which businesses are healthy and to find a margin of safety in the price before entering.
This approach is what some would call smart money; the class that slowly and steadily purchases shares to accumulate the value before the price breaks out pricing the value the business accrues. This is evident on the chart in the so-called accumulation zone.
What value investing does not factor in is the psychology of the buyers and sellers. Which is the other side of the coin that drives price movement.
In terms of the crypto market value investing can be challenging because many of the tokens out there have not been battle-tested, and many are still getting tweaked to find market fit.
