The China Study originally published in 2005, investigates the health of people eating a whole foods plant-based diet in China and compares it with the Standard American Diet (S.A.D.). The empirical evidence resoundingly shows a diet rich in animal proteins refined sugars and processed fats increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases, numerous organ failures, and cancer. I'm revolted to see the truth is in plain sight yet interest groups from industry, government, healthcare, and academia all continue to debate the validity of the plant-based diet with lobbying, ad campaigns, and outright conspiracy. The book demonstrates that the discourse of nutrition is not a scientific one but a power struggle.
Similarities I see with the current crypto industry. I think cryptocurrency is a sound next step to making financial transactions, yet adoption is slow due to uncertainties from the public and push back from the established actors in the current financial system. BTC ETF is a happy first step to mass adoption but more has to happen from merchants and regulators for cryptocurrencies to truly be utilized in the way it was designed: a decentralized digital peer-to-peer transaction rail.
Until that day is fully blossomed I will continue to blog and shill out my reference code.
