Today came with a small but clarifying reset. I realized I forgot my You Are a Badass book for my trip to India, which means the next couple of weeks will pull reflections from Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff instead. Not a derail—just a pivot. The work still moved. Plans adjusted without friction. Nothing meaningful was lost. The overall energy was steady and practical, the kind of day where you keep going without turning minor details into major stories.
The reflection that stayed with me was the question: Will this matter a year from now? Most things don’t. What feels urgent in the moment usually fades into background noise with a little distance. That perspective softens the edges. It frees up energy for creative thinking, real relationships, and decisions that actually compound over time. It’s less about ignoring problems and more about refusing to inflate them.
Calm perspective is its own kind of leadership.

ZM leadership isn’t reacting to every bump in the road. it’s knowing what actually matters a year from now and building accordingly. https://paragraph.com/@thezao/year-of-the-zabal-day-7
