The ambiance of the space in shades of burgundy and black is unique and transports us to a Halloween night. There are many Gothic details, such as mirrors, masks, paintings and witches' brooms. The music ranges from the most erudite to electronic music. The drinks menu has many cocktails with and without alcohol.

Paulo Almeida, born in the Algarve, has owned the space for over 30 years. He has a General Training in Journalism at CENJOR — Protocol Center for Professional Training for Journalists, in Lisbon. But after doing the internship, he realized that he didn't identify with the area and decided to give his life a new direction.

“I always liked to go out at night with my friends in the Algarve during the summer. And as soon as the opportunity arose to take the space, I jumped right in. It is the oldest bar in Setúbal, with the same owner, location and concept”, he tells New in Setúbal. Despite having abandoned journalism, his taste for writing continued, which led him to write a book of poetry divided into two volumes called “O Serenador de Horas”.

The name La Bohème (bohemian) was chosen by Paulo and is directly related to the type of public at the bar. “The definition I usually give is of a class of young artists, who live their day to day carefree, working little and having a lot of fun. It's funny that we have clients who met here, got married and now have their children here”, he jokes.
