Unlock DAO Newsletter | May 2026

April Showers Bring May Flowers - Unlock is ready to start blooming!

Greetings Locksmiths!

Another trip around the calendar and here we are with another monthly roundup of DAO activity! Thanks for joining me on this quick journey through what has been happening with Unlock over the past month.

We've had people on vacation or out sick, new contributors stepping into new roles, and collaborations shipping products that have Unlock running at their core. A wild ride, as usual, but nothing we rodeo clowns can't handle! Let's take a quick dip into the water and see what has been going on underneath the surface:

Governance Activity

As you can see, we missed quorum again on one of our votes, but that will happen sometimes, and we're back on the beat again, so it's business as usual in the land of DAOs!

Our resident Governance nerd, Anupa, has started a thread on Discord to discuss proposal drafting and writing a good proposal. Make sure to check out the thread and drop your thoughts about proposals and good strategies for a successful prop.

Speaking of...

DAO Operations

It's been an exciting time for the DAO with increased interest from contributors all across the spectrum. We have devs itching to work on Github bounties, community projects shipping new products utilizing Unlock, and new contributor initiatives kicking off to showcase everything that has been progressing in our ecosystem!

We recently had a guest appearance from a community member, Regis Chapman, who has been building a tool to advance the language of DAOs and create more precise frameworks for structuring organizations in a clearer, more accurate, and more intentional manner. This fits perfectly with our ongoing initiative to keep our documentation and marketing up to date, accurately reflecting who we are and how our DAO works. Stella and Danni are working to refine the process so we can push updates out as community members identify areas of improvement.

On the topic of how we represent ourselves to the public:

Marketing & Promotion Updates

The Metopia Campaign continues to progress as numbers keep climbing, as more people participate. As we lean into the platform more, the Metopia team continues to work with us on designing the next round as we push forward to more meaningful engagement. Keep your eyes peeled for the next campaign, designed for even deeper engagement with the protocol and to further onboard more community members and projects as we work together to get more memberships onchain in a composable and sovereign way.

The Incented campaign also continues forward as we work closely with Sven to draft a program that meets the needs of our community for facilitating more decentralized participation with our marketing and promotion efforts. So get your memes ready and start drafting your elite content, because contests and opportunities to contribute are on the horizon!

U-Make-Us continues to be a hit as Anupa starts to catch her stride with Community Projects. This is an amazing showcase of projects that have successfully integrated Unlock, giving everyone insights into how Unlock enables them to take their ideas and build seamless onchain membership management. So far, we've had 4 Episodes go live:

And in case you missed last week's episode with G2 and the Creative DAO, here you go:

Community Projects

P2E Inferno - Danni updated us with the first-tranche grant report. Unlock is now deeply embedded across access control with learning quests including a "deploy lock" task type, and an AI discovery layer. As of the report: 157 check-ins, 811 task claims (both EAS-attested on-chain), 4 buys, and 16 sells on the vendor, and roughly 16,000 DG (~50K UP) distributed. The team pivoted from manual to automated verification — including AI-based verification (Gemini) for social-media tasks — to make the system scalable. A chess tournament partnership with Nigeria's active chess community ran over the weekend; future events will be promoted through the Discord #share-your-event channel.

Green Goods/Greenwill - First badge set deploying on Arbitrum. The three core credentials are:

  • Genesis ("I am here" — early alignment, witnessed on-chain)

  • First Work (first garden submission)

  • First Support (vault deposit).

Earth Week activations took place across Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, New York City, Hong Kong, Venezuela, and Taiwan. The team also won a contest at Funding the Commons for additional project support.

Phoenix Gate app - Stella and Karel demod Phoenix Gate, the NFC burner-wallet check-in app that is nearing public release. Recent additions include a customization feature for branded event check-in screens. The build is funded by a grant from the Acronym Foundation, with a planned pilot through Digital Spenders Club. The duo is looking for beta testers once the app goes live on the Google Play Store and the AppStore. If you are interested, reach out to Stella directly via the Unlock channels.

Current Action Items

Here's how you can get involved and prepare for the discussions coming up:

  1. Vote on our onchain proposals via Unlock Governance, Tally, or degov

  2. Review the following topics to add to the discussion:

  • The governance proposal FAQ thread, Anupa is opening on Discord — what barriers, questions, or hesitations have you run into when thinking about bringing a proposal forward?

  • Documentation gaps — if you've noticed anything outdated, missing, or unclear in the public docs, flag it now while updates are actively being prioritized.

  • Open GitHub bounties — if you're a developer, check the repo and confirm with Julien before starting work.

  • P2E Inferno is ready for event planners to test out the platform!

  1. If you are an Unlock Community Member, don't hesitate to post in our spotlight channel so we can shed some light on what you are building!

  2. Share our social media posts and engage with campaigns across X, Tik Tok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Farcaster—let's amplify our message together!

Thanks for following along, fellow locksmiths, and always remember:

Unlock isn't just a tool for access — it's a protocol for belonging.

Stay classy out there,
Trigs
