Aloha, welcome to Uqbar’s weekly rollup. Every Monday we’ll provide you with exciting updates on everything Uqbar: dev reports, media mentions, and general happenings around the Urbit ecosystem.
No media this week, what with the confluence of Christmas and New Year’s. The boys decided to spend time with their families. Unforgivable. However, the light at the end of this festive season is that The Network Age have just recorded with Owen Barnes, so do look out for that soon.
Native Planet have released their software and subscription to make getting on Urbit much easier to do from your home.
Groundseg allows you to manage multiple IDs from a Linux device.
StarTram is a “networking backend that offers zero-config remote access to your Urbit and its S3 bucket via a unique-to-you URL”.
And soon they’ll start processing orders for their purpose-built Urbit hardware!

Not exactly Urbit, but special congrats to the Tacen team for launching their exchange built on a decentralized settlement layer. Their CEO, Jae Yang, is a Wyoming maxi and Urbit OG.
Another busy week for the Uqbar team—check out some of their accomplishments:
~sillus-mallus spent this week designing and building the UI for the pyro virtualships fleet management and the testing / snapshotting tools that go with it.
~hodzod-walrus and ~fabnev-hinmur released %pokur V1 and did additional bug fixes and visual improvements.
~fabnev-hinmur released a "Clear All" button for notifications as well as some fixes to the sidebar on EScape.
~hosted-fornet and ~dachus-tiprel re-worked %pyro and %ziggurat interfaces for frontend, improved compilation error messages within %ziggurat, and propagated errors from %ziggurat to frontend
Unenclosable Carriers and the Future of Communication, on permissionless software-based collaboration (by Holochain, evil Urbit competitor).
A few of this week’s best threads from Uqbar founder, @basileSportif
