Big news from Urbit Mergers and Acquisitions this week as Holium have acquired Urbit hosting company third.earth. Sayeth Holium’s ~lomder-librun, “We have much more in mind for hosting than what's currently on the market and this accelerates our roadmap by at least 6 months.” Congratulations to both companies! While third.earth lay claim to sophisticated technology and professionalism, our community guy, Habsul, would like Urbit companies interested in playing catch up to know that he’s got a VPS out of Germany for sale that’ll hold like 15 to 20 ships at a time.
2
Once again, we’re talking–quite against our will–about Urbit Fart Apps. ~bacwyl-samweg has released fart 2. You can push the button to create a fart sound, yes, but there’s more. If others of your friends–assuming you have friends–have the app open as well, they will also hear your fart. So, fart 2 brings global farts to Urbit. The dream of the old internet is alive.
(Download this fresh hell by searching for ~bacwyl-samweg).

3
Let’s raise the tone a bit. Also from ~bacwyl-samweg: Temple O Chess is back! We had been missing the Terry (PBUH)-inspired chess app, but it has returned with a Temple OS-styled chat.
(Download this blessed app by searching for ~bacwyl-samweg).

Another busy week for the Uqbar team—check out some of their accomplishments:
4
~hodzod-walrus and ~fabnev-hinmur gave us…a beautiful enigma that will be widely distributed at any moment. Also, they debugged it.
5
~sillus mallus brings us functionality so Projects can be focused (similar to open workspace in vscode) and linked (to share state between interrelated desks). Ziggurat backend status is now visible in a color coded display and Dojo printouts are available for each virtual ship.
6
~hosted-fornet and ~dachus-tiprel worked on maintaining and switching between state for different projects, virtual %eyre (enabling access to virtualship frontends), and improving compiler error output.
7
Check out Tlon CEO Galen Wolfe-Pauly on the BoysClub.eth podcast. He Urbitsplains Urbit to the talented ladies of Boys Club, but our one criticism is that they didn’t manage to peek behind the veil– as other Very Talented Podcasters have done in the past–and get us the goods on Galen’s tofu obsession*.
8
Try this episode of Odd Lots, Viktor Shvets Declares Victory for Team Transitory and the Soft Landing, especially if you liked Our Glorious Leader @basileSportif ‘s thread on Stufflation.
That’s it for this week. Be sure to follow everyone and everything listed in this week’s rollup.
Make sure to drop by Uqbar’s Office Hours on Twitter at 1300 Eastern every other Monday (that’s next week!) and Urbit’s On-nomi (Happy Hour) every Thursday at 1830 Eastern at the Urbit Hacker House on Gather Town.
And if you’re on Urbit, join our group at:
~hocwyn-tipwex/uqbar-event-horizon-forever.
If you’re NOT on Urbit, amend your living. We can help you with that: find us on Discord (preferred) or Telegram.
Until next time!
