Cracking the Code: How Velora Epochs Distribute Rewards and Refunds
Velora’s Epochs are more than just a date on the governance calendar, they are the engine room of the protocol’s incentive system.Every four weeks, the DAO turns on a finely tuned mechanism that channels protocol fees back to the community, rewarding commitment, contribution, and activity. Built and maintained by WakeUp Labs, this system leverages PSP 2.0’s Social Escrow model and the automation upgrades introduced in PIP-55 to run with precision, transparency, and minimal manual intervention...
Stylus in 2025 & the First DevConnect Stylus Gathering
Throughout 2025, Arbitrum Stylus world growth y Toward the end of the year, we had our first stylus oriented gathering where several speakers presented the projects they’ve been building. It turned out to be a great meetup that brought together most of the builders in the ecosystem. We’re glad it happened, and we’re excited to keep moving forward on this path, making smart contracts faster, more performant and more efficient, while opening the door for more developers to use these tools.
Membership Verification and Identity Standards for Optimism’s ZK Toolkit
These two milestones highlight our progress in enabling seamless membership verification on the testnet and integrating the W3C Decentralized Identifier (DID) standard into our solution as part of the Optimism mission: ZK Toolkit for ZK Application Developers. Together, these advancements establish a solid foundation for scalable and interoperable decentralized identity management.Basic Membership Verification on TestnetTo make decentralized membership verification accessible, we built a foun...

Wrapping up 2024, we’re reflecting on a year where we worked on several Optimism missions, participated in Brussels, Belgium, at the Superchain Space, and began actively engaging in the governance space.

Back in July 2024, we joined the Superchain Space, a two-day collaboration hub centered around ETHCC in Brussels. The event brought together builders, researchers, and collaborators from across the ecosystem to align on scaling solutions for Ethereum.

We’ve made consistent progress across several Optimism missions assigned to us, and we’ll carry this momentum into 2025!
ZK Toolkit for ZK Application Developers: We are developing tools to streamline ZK integrations for the Superchain, helping developers build and deploy zero-knowledge proofs efficiently. During 2024, we conducted extensive research, analyzing several existing ZK identity solutions to ensure secure and privacy-focused interactions between applications and users. We ultimately chose Privado ID as the best fit due to its comprehensive infrastructure, including APIs, a user interface, and ZK query capabilities, making it a mature and ready-to-use solution. Although currently tied to the Polygon network, Privado ID’s robust features that allow us to adapt it for use on Optimism and the broader Superchain ecosystem.
Making Impact Evaluation Accessible Framework: We are enhancing the existing Impact Evaluation Framework by refining it through close collaboration with key stakeholders, including Badgeholders and RetroPGF applicants. This initiative also includes developing a user-friendly, interactive, open-source website. This platform will enable contributors to evaluate the impact of their efforts and access detailed information about RetroPGF activities. During 2024, we completed a research document exploring methodologies to refine the impact evaluation framework used in Retroactive Public Goods Funding (RetroPGF) within the Optimism Collective. The research included an in-depth analysis of voting methodologies, interviews with BadgeHolders, and identification of areas for improvement in the current workflow. These findings aim to make impact evaluation more efficient and user-friendly for both evaluators and project applicants.

Superchain Accounts: We are working on Superchain Accounts — native smart accounts tailored specifically for the Superchain ecosystem. These accounts utilize account abstraction to deliver enhanced user experiences and new ways to engage with Optimism. In 2024, we successfully kicked off the project and have been making steady progress.

Decentralized Rollup as a Service: We’re developing a decentralized Rollup-as-a-Service (RaaS) designed to empower users with flexibility and scalability. We are creating a decentralized RaaS that enables users to deploy rollups in the cloud effortlessly. It emphasizes transparency and choice, incorporating features that allow provider switching vendors and avoiding the limitations of existing solutions.

We’ve been selected for two more Optimism missions this year, kicking off development in Q1 2025:
Optimism as a Venture Studio: We are actively exploring new pathways to foster project growth within the Superchain ecosystem. Acting as a venture studio for Optimism projects, we aim to provide services such as product discovery, design, technical research, and hands-on development. By focusing on scalability and efficiency, we strive to enable projects to successfully deploy and thrive on Optimism.

Interop Crosschain Alert & Monitoring Tool: We are building a Crosschain Alert Monitoring Tool to track and monitor interop messages across Superchain blockchains. This tool focuses on identifying downtime, delays, and key metrics critical for seamless interoperability. Our solution comprises multiple modules to ensure reliable communication between chains, deliver real-time health metrics, and generate alerts for any potential disruptions in cross-chain messaging. By prioritizing transparency and reliability, this tool aims to enhance trust and operational efficiency across the Superchain.

Governance has been a priority for us this year. As delegates, we ensured 100% on-chain participation and engaged thoughtfully in discussions, providing our technical expertise whenever possible and maintaining objectivity.➡️ View our delegate profile

As we gear up for 2025, we remain committed to supporting the Optimism ecosystem with new tools, thoughtful contributions, and a shared vision for scaling Ethereum.
Here’s to another year of collaboration and innovation on Optimism! 🌟 🥂
