The Ultimate Guide to Arbitrum's Onchain Gaming Ecosystem
Author: FaultProofBen Gm! Last week, we covered some of the L2 stacks for building onchain games like World Engine, Keystone, Paima and AltLayer. We’ve also spent plenty of time discussing other ecosystems here on WASD like Starknet, and the MUD games built on various OP Stack L2s. If you are an L2 nerd (like myself) you may notice that there’s one glaring omission from this list: Arbitrum. Arbitrum is mostly known for having the largest L2 DeFi ecosystem, and a big Web 2.5 gaming (Games with...

The Ultimate Guide to the Realms Ecosystem: Part 2
Gm! About a month ago, I began our exploration of the Realms ecosystem in “The Ultimate Guide to the Realms Ecosystem: Part 1.” If you’re a loyal WASD reader, you may have noticed that Part 2 has yet to be released. (Rugged!) I’m happy to say that changes today, thanks to the legendary 0xAkina! In Part 1, I focused on the history, vision, and entities operating in the Realms ecosystem. I also shared my thoughts on one of its first-party games, Loot Survivor. As promised, in Part 2, Akina will...

Gm and welcome to The WASD Weekly!
Onchain games are building momentum.
Dojo shipped v0.3.0.
Chaquer began their public alpha.
And Sky Labs, Tetration Labs, and others teased news games.
Crypto as a whole may seem ice cold. But onchain games continue to heat up as Devconnect and the AW Assembly (the largest conference in the sector’s history) draw closer.
Now, here’s:
The biggest news and best content from the past week
My picks for three games to try over the weekend
A look at Land Labor Capital (LLC)
And of course…
…The S-Tier Meme of the Week!!!

The hottest news from the last week in onchain gaming and autonomous worlds.
Three onchain games to try out for yourself this weekend.
Catch up on WASD content and mints from the past week.
The best non-WASD Content from around the ecosystem.

Land Labor Capital (LLC) is a business simulation game in the vein of titles like Zoo Tycoon and Roller Coaster Tycoon.
In LLC, your objective is to build a business empire by extracting resources that you can use to build industrial plants, develop real estate, and operate retail establishments.
This can be done while contending with the dynamics of LLC’s NPC inhabitants, whose labor demands and spending habits change based on the events that occur in the game.
Players can also tap into the financial markets to achieve their goals by issuing stock, trading resources, and (of course) speculating.
LLC is currently in pre-alpha on Arbitrum Nova, opBNB, Loot Chain, and Base.
I’ve only gotten to scratch the game's surface, but LLC looks like it could be a lot of fun, especially as a business nerd who enjoys these types of simulation games.
There seems to be a ton of depth to game’s mechanics, from resource production, to construction to all the degeneracy that can take place in the in-game markets.
I think there is a lot to sink your teeth into here.
With that said, I do feel that the game is not yet a finished product. I’ve encountered UI bugs (such as issues with connecting my wallet), and I also think LLC could benefit from a tutorial given its complexity.
I also am unsure how I feel about the idea of having players initial allocation of LLC tokens (The in-game currency) tied to the amount of crypto they deposit into the game (Which is how initial tokens are issued).
I feel this could introduce some pay-to-win dynamics, with whales able to get a leg up by being able to make large initial deposits.
All in all, while it’s a bit rough around the edges, I do think LLC has a lot of potential.
I’ll be spending a lot more time playing it over the weekend and hope to share some more of my thoughts on it with you all down the road :)
