Today we announce our very first project operating at the forefront of this exciting new frontier: White Mirror by CHAPTR, presented by The Culture DAO. With a mission to challenge the boundaries of AI-powered storytelling, White Mirror brings together a diverse team of top creatives from around the world while also forging partnerships with Open AI who are pioneers in the world of synthetic media and Google Cloud.

Although the technology is not quite there yet to produce the next hit on Netflix, talented and ambitious creators have already used existing generative AI solutions to create short videos through AI. With the ongoing technological advancements in this area, it is more a question of when, not if, we will see full-length feature films created entirely by generative AI.

White Mirror by CHAPTR is a six-week community challenge to co:create a new AI feature film - ‘White Mirror’. The project emerges from the close collaboration between CHAPTR and The Culture DAO, both operating at the forefront of media, generative AI & web3. The White Mirror community consists of ten ‘Collectives’ - each being led by one of the most accomplished figures in their respective industries, including Tabitha Swanson, Tino Schaedler and Paul Trillo. These creators are frontrunners of a new generation of filmmakers who are leveraging the power of AI to push the boundaries of visual storytelling. Within White Mirror, they will get access to the latest AI technology from Open AI, Midjourney, Google Cloud & other technologies plus an upfront production budget. 

Members of the White Mirror community can join one or more of these Collectives to not only witness the magic of AI-generated movie creation but to actually contribute to the creative process of the world’s first AI feature film by giving early feedback, voting on ideas and discussing with the creators.
