In the famous Kemetic image sometimes called the 'judgement scene' we see the heart being weighed against the feather of Maa't. The results of this evaluation is recorded by the god Tehuti. This made me wonder, why would the goddess & gods need to write anything down? I know the imagery is symbolic and not to be taken quite so literally, but it still made me wonder why would spirit need to document anything. Keeping in mind the Hermetic principal of Correspondence which says "as above, so below, as below, so above", my conclusion or interpretation of the scene is, essentially, if it's not documented (recorded) it never happened.

Imagine you were pulled over by police and asked to produce evidence that you own your car. Now imagine you somehow couldn't show that evidence, that documentation. I hope your phone has battery because you're going to need to call an Uber.
Every event must be documented. The buying of your house, your car, your hiring, your firing, birth, death, marriage, income, etc.; think about how every commercial purchase you make comes with a document we call a receipt. Everything you own has a document. A document is proof.
So why would spirit (god/source) need to document anything, it's not like spirit might forget. I believe the documentation we see in the ‘judgement scene’ (also sometimes called ‘the weighing of the heart’) is not so the goddesses & gods can have something on file in case they need to pull up the records, they already have all knowledge. I submit that the documentation is done as a courtesy for the rest of us. The document bears witness.

It’s said that the god of words (Tehuti) made the calculations for establishing heaven and earth and all the stars. I think of these calculations as the plans, the blueprints or the schematics which defined the universe and everything in it. They also defined the mechanics and behavior of all things within the universe. This tells us that before creation or manifestation, there is first a plan. If you had a great idea for a business, the first thing investors want to see is the plan, the plan being the fundamental document of feasibility. Without documentation an initiative can hardly be taken seriously. In this same way, I suggest, whatever it is you wish to achieve, whatever it is you wish to become, wherever it is you want your life to go; you would benefit by first creating the document.

When you write something down you substantiate it. You literally give it substance because it's now here in the physical realm in the form of a physical document. Is it the full manifestation we want? No, but we've taken the first step and we've brought it into the physical reality to a degree. Hip-hop duo Dead Prez had a song called 'Game of Life' in which they rapped "what you achieve comes degree by degree" and we know success is built brick by brick. Everything is cumulative, so it then becomes a matter of consistency and returning your mind’s focus back to your documented vison repeatedly. Even through the physical act of writing we endow our idea, image, or intention with physical energy. This is the essence of bringing concept into reality.
When you write something down you’re creating a pathway for its expression in the physical world.
A symbol is the interface between the visible and invisible worlds.
Words map and resolve our vision, they allow us to export and transmit the intangible.
Like computer code (language), your words are the input, your life is the output.
I opened by saying, if it's not documented, it didn't happen. Perhaps we can also say, if it's not documented, it doesn't happen.
