Happy New Week!
Beginning this week, WTMC will provide updates on Polygon's weekly news, the landscape of social media, and ecological development. In the past, WTMC would gather and compile Polygon's weekly updates and post them on Chinese social media. Now, in an effort to increase the number of users who are aware of Polygon's progress, we are uploading the collected contents of these original English information on this channel.

The week's most significant story is Polygon's official statement piece in advance of the ETH merge: What Does Ethereum’s Transition to Proof of Stake Mean for Polygon?
Ethereum will transition from a PoW consensus mechanism to a PoS consensus mechanism in September. This change makes Ethereum more environmentally friendly without lowering the gas charge or speeding up the network. The Polygon network will continue to play a significant role in scaling the Ethereum dApp and ecosystem after the merge happens, according to Polygon Stuidios CEO Ryan Wyatt.

This week also saw the release of Polygon Miden VM (virtual machine), version 0.2, which represents fresh advancements on the core development front for one of Polygon's flagship products, Miden.
The STARK-based Ethernet-compatible Polygon Miden solution has launched VM v0.2. The Miden VM now has read-write random access memory and is Turing complete. This implies that the VM can run any program.

Ecological concerns are also drawn to Polygon in addition to apps and developers. The ZK public chain ecosystem Partisia, which drew a lot of investors in the first half of this year, has finished integrating with the Polygon network.
The Partisia Blockchain Foundation has merged its mainnet v3.0 with the Polygon network. This independent non-profit organisation supports the creation of the world's foremost zero-knowledge blockchain. To promote Web3 privacy safeguards, this integration introduces Partisia's unified smart contracts to Polygon.
Likewise, Terra. GameSwift embraces Polygon Supernets and changes its name.
The GameFi ecosystem on Terra, originally known as StarTerra, has been renamed and moved to Polygon Supernets under the name GameSwift. Users can play a variety of games and take part in Initial Game Offerings (IGO) and Initial NFT Offerings thanks to GameSwift's integrated gaming ecosystem (INO). GameSwift gives developers the capabilities to enhance and personalize their games as well as the ability to port them to the decentralized environment.
Polygon Studios invested in MintStars this week, an NFT subscription platform for creators, models, and their followers. Its mission is to assist creators in earning more money while benefiting their fans.
And travel booking platform Travala.com now accepts Polygon network $USDC payments. Travala offers over three million travel products globally and accepts 60 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, as well as credit/debit card payments.

The following focus is developer ecology. Polygon just teamed up with Techstars London to develop another Web3 Accelerator Program. The program will assist and support projects, allowing developers to build better projects on Polygon.

Also, the monthly Polygon developer meetup will be held on August 31. The Polygon team will present new projects and share recent Polygon updates.

New to Polygon?
Polygon is a market leader in Ethernet scaling solutions and infrastructure. The expanding number of eco-projects on Polygon provides developers with simple access to all scalability and infrastructure solutions. Layer 2 solutions (ZK rollup and Optimistic rollup), sidechains, hybrid solutions, independent and enterprise chains, data availability, and other features are included. Polygon's scaling solutions have been used by over 37,000 dApps, and the company has completed over 1 billion transactions, has over 100 million unique user addresses, and safeguards over $5 billion in assets.
