Maybe it did already, but here I am going to argue that the new threat landscape is no longer simply about the realm of matter as prison that inhibits the realisation of higher consciousness in the way that the classical Gnostics understood it to be, and this is because the dark forces that Gómez-Marín is referring to are certainly not bound to the limitations of physicalist paradigms. In fact, what I believe these forces are doing in reality, is working to co-opt, subvert, profane, and invert teleological spiritual ascension towards reunification with God, which represents true reclamation and redemption, and occurs through self-realisation and Gnosis. Classical Gnosticism understood this well, but we must now begin to factor in ever greater paramaters of soul entrapment or erosion through advanced technological and psionic means.¹

A prime example here is the co-opting of Gnostic ideas by post-materialist transhumanists such as Ray Kurzweil and Nick Bostrom. In his video “The Crisis EVERYONE Is Ignoring” YouTuber Lungs of Faith rightly points out that classical Gnosticism (and Occultism) has inspired transhumanist ideology because its deep scepticism of the material world, of the body, and its focus on transcendence, aligns with a post-human or cybernetic world view. But Lungs of Faith’s Catholic bias prohibits him from understanding that just because some transhumanist thinkers have borrowed from (or subverted or misinterpreted) some aspects of Gnostic thought, doesn’t mean that Gnosticism itself aligns with, or supports post-humanism and transhumanism. 

In fact, in Sethix Gnosticism, transhumanism represents a primary Achrontic apex-threat to true liberation, redemption, salvation, and spiritual ascension. In the video, Lungs of Faith reiterates Andrew Wilson's claim that (some) transhumanists borrow aspects of Christian morality to suit their agenda, but conveniently cut out the source God from their ontology. The same is true in their co-opting of Gnosticism, so blaming the Gnostics for transhumanism seems more like a jab at the perceived heresy of self Knowledge and our suspicion of materialism, but this is to be expected from a Catholic.

The reality is that the co-option of Christian morality, and the negation of telos orientated towards the source God by the transhumanists represents a primary threat to true Gnostics, Christians, and Catholics alike. This is why the concept of The Inversion of Seth, in Sethix Gnosticism directly addresses the transhumanist corruption of the Christ Light, which esoterically speaks to the extinguishing of humankind that Gómez-Marín refers to. In Sethianism, the Seed is essentially immovable and incorruptible at the deepest level of reality (because the divine spark never fully separated from the One), but that doesn't mean that Archnotic forces cannot work towards a deepening of the Separation, or reinforce an accelerated decent into ignorance and darkness by attempting to cut humanity off from Source, God, and from Gnosis.

If the transhumanists are attempting (whether consciously or not) to cut humanity off from Source, then the way that they do this might very well be through 'martrix control systems' and prisons that are understood to operate beyond materialist conditions, whether these be digital, synthetic, noospheric, psychic/telepathic, simulated, post-human, post-biological, holographic, quantum, astral, meta-cosmic, or otherwise; mind uploading, brain-machine interfaces, virtual worlds and mixed reality interfaces, genetic engineering, artificial wombs, nanotech, smart-dust, and psuedo-spiritual frameworks...If the ontology is devoid of higher purpose and telos aligned with the One; that is, orientated back towards reunification with God, then it represents a modern Archontic trap, a derailment, and a 'completion of the Fall' because techno-acceleration devoid of the Path back to God represents an intensification of adversarial conditions that are in reality Satanic.

Gnostics have always struggled with the Luciferic impulse, there's no denying it. Although orthodox religious thinkers might view this as New Age woo and fluff, if you understand the esoteric concepts of the activation of light through grounding oneself in the physical Earth (grid) where the light represents the Christ energy and higher consciousness realisable in each of us, and the necessity of Christ's incarnation and resurrection, as part of a process of salvation regarding the positively polarised evolution of Earth and humanity, which we are all a part of and contributing towards, then it starts to make sense.

The forces attempting to cut humanity off from this Light—encompassing our physical bodies and our chakra systems, which are able to hold and express the divine Christ/Seth energy—represent the real threat that we are facing metaphysically speaking.
