The way we sees it, life is pretty simple. You ride a bike through the green stuff with your mates, you look a little ridiculous while doing so and then you lash back a frosty one to toast the day. Really, what else is there to want?

The sun does it thing, the vibes are on [dynamite] point, and the only crushing disappointment comes when you realize Monday is still coming, whether you like it or not.

Except some of you don't. The more fruity of the XFondo Class of 2025 decided that their definition of fun was to take on the bloat of the Mystery Climb, a detour advertised as "basically pointless, untimed and totally the wrong way".

We didn't tell you where it was, how long it went on for, or even what the benefit would be. Nevertheless, this still did not work to deter some from going up it.

And it's a good thing they did, because thanks to the rascals at Bici, they were rewarded with some special prizing. Want to know what they won?

Yes so this year, every rough-edged rider (read: participant) were gifted 15 - and 15 only - disposable photos to capture the event from their perspective.

Not only is that cool as all heck (and totally not stolen from every other wedding), but we promised that our favourite set of snaps would win 2 entries to the 2026 event.
