The New Alter bridge Self titled album dropped today, and it's as good as ever. I've loved to see how this band has evolved over time, and they continue to be my favourite band.
If you guys want almost death metal riffs with soaring vocal melodies and phenomenal guitar solos, look no further. They continue to cement themselves as the pinnacle of modern hard rock
My favourite lyrics from the album:
"and though I hang by a thread, you'll never keep a good man down"

Last year on this day, I decided to write a song a day for 100 days. I had never attempted anything like it, and it kick-started me on my journey as a musician.
I then spent the next 100 days gigging and producing, and in the final third I took a step back, and saw what it took to study in one of the best audio courses in the world.
I've been many things this year, creator, performer, musician, producer and songwriter, student, the list goes on, but I've most of all been happy.
I haven't any Idea what 2026 has in store for me, but this is genuinely the first year where I'm genuinely proud of what I've done and excited for what's to come.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me this year, and Happy New Year🤘
Looking for some album recs for a flight to Australia, As you know I am a rock musician, so I want a decent mix of rock and stuff to expand my music taste and bring that listening age down
Today I spent an hour in class listen to the 4 track multitrack on Sergeant peppers lonely hearts club band - it's really interesting how the beatles thad to commit to the mix before recording to tape - the lead guitar is really bright, and the isolated vocals have so much reverb baked in, but then it just works in the full mix.
We also listened to the 16 track of superstition, and have the 24 track stems of bohemian Rhapsody to play around with - weirdly on boh rhap, the bass has 3 tracks to itself, and you can hear how detuned the piano is!

Listened to this album last week, and have to say I really dig it, the production is great, and Wolf Van Halen gets better and better. He recorded every instrument himself (and says that guitar is his third best instrument - while simultaneously playing on par with his father)
Absolutely brilliant musician.
