Yesterday was one for the history books.
Mathieu van der Poel didn’t just win the final round of the season, he also put on a show, holding nothing back and demonstrating a clear supremacy that makes him the top favorite for next Sunday’s World CX Championships.
On top of that, he now sits alone at the top of the all-time CX World Cup wins with 51 victories, and clinched his second overall CX World Cup title.
Damn, this guy! 😅 He flies! Looking like it's no effort at all!
This year’s World Cup has been faster than ever, and that speed has made it even more spectacular to watch.

Final round!
Yesterday I witnessed an all-time masterclass from Mathieu van der Poel: two punctures, two comebacks, zero panic; only pure class and power to win anyway.
Today, he’ll surely go for it again, to increase the record he already tied yesterday with 50 wins, standing alone at the top. And he doesn’t even need to take risks, because he just needs 3 points to secure the overall World Cup; simply finishing the race would almost be enough. But this guy doesn’t know how to compete if it’s not full gas. 😬
For Thibau Nys, it would take a miracle: he needs to win first, and then MVDP would have to end up 25th or worse…
A tough final track for the last dance of the CX World Cup season, in theory, one of the most demanding in the entire calendar.
I’ll happily settle for just half the fun I had yesterday 😅
