August was a milestone month for Animoca Brands — one where regulated finance met culture and community.
From Hong Kong’s first licensed stablecoin joint venture and the upcoming Nuva RWA marketplace, to our acquisition of Cool Cats and the rollout of new financial rails, we’re building the connections that bring Web3 closer to the wider world.

On August 1, Hong Kong’s new Stablecoins Ordinance went live — and that same day we announced Anchorpoint Financial Limited, our joint venture with Standard Chartered and HKT.
Anchorpoint has applied to become one of the first licensed stablecoin issuers in Hong Kong. Its plan is to issue a fully regulated Hong Kong dollar stablecoin, built to integrate directly with banks, exchanges, and payment providers — making digital money usable for both institutional and retail purposes.
At a glance:
Backed by major institutions under Hong Kong’s new stablecoin regime
Instant, programmable settlement that runs 24/7
Bridge between Web3 efficiency and TradFi reliability

If Anchorpoint is about the currency layer, then Nuva is about the asset layer.
In partnership with ProvLabs, Animoca Brands is developing Nuva, a tokenized marketplace for real-world assets (RWAs) set to launch in Q4 2025. Built on the Provenance blockchain, Nuva will bring assets like credit, loans, and real estate on-chain with verifiable ownership and full transparency.
Here’s what’s coming:
Institutional-grade products such as SEC-registered yield stablecoins and Figure Lending’s HELOC pools
Assets minted directly on Provenance for clear, auditable ownership
Broader access to opportunities once reserved for large institutions
Together, Anchorpoint and Nuva form two halves of the same vision: stablecoins as money, RWAs as assets. One provides trusted digital currency; the other opens the door to tokenized investment opportunities.

We also made a major move in cultural IP. Animoca Brands and affiliates have taken a majority stake in Cool Cats Group, one of the most recognizable NFT brands in Web3.
Cool Cats has built a loyal following around its distinctive art and community-driven spirit, making it one of the few NFT projects to cross into mainstream awareness. Now, as part of the Animoca Brands ecosystem, the brand will gain new ways to grow — from gaming and media extensions to expanded IP opportunities.
To help steer the next chapter, Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, and Kenneth Shek, project lead of Moca Network, have joined the Cool Cats board. Integration with Mocaverse is also on the horizon, creating new rewards and shared incentives for both communities.
